Are these 4 players setting themselves up as the the AFL's elite small forwardline structure?

All four are coming into career best form and are all hard to line up on. They all seem to be feeding of each others form and seem to want to show each other up every week. The goals just seem to get better every week. IMO our forwardline structure with these four is the most exciting I can remember.

Both Travis and Anf will always be the spearhead and target forwards, with Fraser and Bryan also resting in these roles, but when the ball goes to ground in the forward 50 it is starting to feel the same as when Daicos owned the forward pocket, we seem to expect that even though the ball goes to ground our chances of scoring are actually better than if the mark is taken. This is taking nothing away from Trav and Anf, but the smalls, on the burst are un stoppable.

Anyone one of these four players can make the All Australian team this year. With Daisy starting a little behind the eight ball for selection the other 3 would have to be in the final list of 40 at this stage and that in itself is amazing as they all they are all in our small forwards structure.

Are they the best 4 small forwards group in the AFL at the moment or is it just me? We are the second highest scoring team this year and our spearheads arent the major contributors.

be worrying for other teams , usually every team has that one small forward that is really hard to match up on. we have four of them, all are so damaging

It's very exciting. Fortunately we have 2 big KP forwards to go with them, plus a couple in development because I wouldn't want to go into a massive final relying on small forwards to kick our winning score.

Their ability to get big numbers in the midfield is the most pleasing thing because it keeps them in the game where in previous times a small forward might not touch the ball for 30 minutes.

I definitely like the structure we have these days - 3 talls (including Rusling and Rocca) was too big and immobile.

We kicked 173 pts yesterday with one key forward effectively.

Its very impressive how well they're doing as a group. Cloke and Rocca haven't really done much this year and will hopefully start to fire. I remember when we picked up Medhurst many scratching their heads saying how are we going to fit another small forward in and yet we have and they're all playing so well now. Exciting times

Its a very exciting forward line with all thos 4 players having the ability to wins games of their own boot and rip out something special.
With them 4 smalls i would throw in Cloke and Rocca and that forward line looks special.

HF - Thomas Cloke Didak
F - Davis Rocca Medhurst

That forward structure IMO looks alot better than our structure with the 3 tall forwards playing.

its good for defensive pressure inside the 50 also! the good thing is that our small play tall also,ie they are a good mark above the head!!!

There is no doubt we have the best small forward brigade in the comp. No other club gets close.

Throw Pebs & Cloke into the mix as our key forwards and you have the most potent (& settled) forward 6 in the comp.

we may have the best forward line at the moment and yes these four guys are a huge reason why that is but for me the main reason we are kicking goals is because of our midfield pressure. the last 2-3 games our midfield has been alot better and hence alot more easier goals!!

To say no one comes close is a bit generous.

I think we have the best group of 4 small forwards, but not too far behind is S Johnson, Chapman, Stokes, G Ablett. You may argue that G Ablett spends more time in the middle than forward, but so do each of Davis, Didak, and even Thomas.

Rarely would Coll have each of Medhurst, Davis, Didak, and Thomas in the forward line at the same time - we just don't have the midfield to support it (unfortunately...). At all times there is at least one of the four either resting on the bench, or working in the midfield.

Having said that, I believe that ONE of Medhurst, Didak, and possibly even Davis will make the AA team.

And Thomas seems determined to win Goal of the Year.

Mark of the Year wouldn't be beyond him either but he doesn't take so many hangers as he did when he started. C'mon Dale, give us something!! :p

Those four definitely form the best small-forward structure in the AFL without a doubt. It suits us better playing four smalls and two talls down the spine as we have been doing of late.

Didak and Medhurst should both push for AA selection at the end of the year, providing no injuries or a long form slump.

I agree, but they rarely all play there together. If we had greater midfield depth / class, we would be able to play them all down there, and what a small forward line that would be!

I also agree with the Didak / Medhurst thing, but threw Davis in there as well since he was preferred to both already once this year (Allies team, Hall of Fame match)

Similar the Essendon game where Rocca didnt play. The next week against the Hawks we got smashed with no Anthony Rocca in the forward line. Rocca is crucial when we go up against top 4 sides.

There's little more satisfying than a recycled player who comes good as Medders has done. As it is, he just about justifies the Tarrant swap without even mentioning the top 10 pick that came as well.

Apart from the fact that Freo obviously has problems (see: Clement, Croad etc.), what is the difference with Medders. Has he dropped some muscle bulk to regain agility or something - he does look leaner??

I believe that's exactly what he has done.

Has anyone snagged them both in the same year? Surely Dale will be the first to do it:D
