Has anyone got much information about these three players Thomas Redden, Jack Juniper and Bryce Gibbs apart from what is on the draft website. They sound like very talented players.

Redden

Thomas Redden along with Danny Meyer was the standout down at Sacred Heart this year. He is 190cm, but not a KP player, played on the ball all year and quite often helped Juniper out with set plays around the ground as a 3rd man up in the ruck. Played the exact same role that Mackie did in 2002, Mackie is the player I rate him closest too, I think geelong have been playing Mackie out of position, they should try him on a wing, i think he could dominate from there and i could see Redden doing the same, like Mackie he has a big engine and can go all day. The good thing about him, even though only being 74kgs he goes where angels dare to tread. This kid is honestly a super talent and should not slip out of the top 10-15, i know for a fact though that we have not spoken to him yet which is a bit disappointing, but this was 2 weeks ago so we may have spoken to him since fingers crossed.

Juniper

Jack played as Sacred Hearts number 1 ruckman all year, has a great leap on him and can also play either at centre half back or anywhere in the forward lines too. He is quick too, also has been involved with the athletics at SHC too, cant really see him making it as a ruckman at AFL level but will be a more than handy KP player either back or forward. One of his best attributes is his booming kick, constantly kicks the ball 60m, instead of it being a midfielder running round theback to recieve a handball from a ruckman kicking for goal, jack use to get the ball from the midfielders and kicked a lot fo goals this year! Also a lot people on this board have been calling for us to draft Benet Copping, this kid is a better player than Ben and is more physically mature than him too, when they met in school footy this year Benet was comprahensively beaten by Jack.

Gibbs

didnt see him play this year at all because he didnt play in the sunday league for very long this year. This kid is an outstanding kid and has stood out since under 11s, is nothing like his dad, he is tall and skillful, kcisk with both feet beautifully, often on sunday would have opponents bigger than him but always beat them. Played most of the season in the 17s for Glenelg where the game plan was kick it to Bryce(no lie) until his dad lost his position as coach for other reasons. Then went onto play in the reserves on a half back flank until getting injured late in the season, will be a gun i think, dominated at the 16s national champs this year, was one of SA's best. one to look out for in the future along with Travis Varco(something like that) from Centrals both these kids can play!

Copping

i threw this one in because a few people are keen to draft him, i am not! He is lazy and is overrated as a footballer, doesnt really like the hard stuff, doesnt always do the team thing.

Jace Bode

watch out for this kid next year! he will be an absolute gun, plays with Sturt and Pembroke. Played 2 ressies games for sturt and quite a few in the 17s, was an emergency for the State 18s team too. Inside midfielder who loves the rough stuff, did get sent off a couple of times during the year i think, absolute nut, i wouldnt want to get into a fight with him. Has magnificent skills, beat Rostrevor nearly single handedly this year after playing in the Ressies for sturt the night before in the game against norwood where Adelaide Oval was nearly under water. Has a booming left foot kick on him, has a touch of arrogance too, will try run away from opponents, fend them off and doesnt mind telling them how good he is. In yr11 at the moment and would already have the body for AFL, under the old draft rules he wouldve been eligible this year i think and wouldve been a steal with a late pick as a bottom age player.

yep his the nephew...

like i said the other day somewhere... if he was son of you guys would be all over him like a cheap suit with the father son rule! :p

Roodog, do you know much about Seb Paynter, son fo Jack?

umm i know of him... havent seen him play for the long time, from memory he is the same age as my brother so he woudl be in yr11 at the moment but i dont know at what school or how his football is going!

He is in yr 10, goes to PAC, would have played firsts this year but he got glandular fever and i don't think his dad wanted him to. Absolutely dominated the yr10 independant schools comp, pretty much best players every week and always kicks goals.

Bryce is 15 and playing reserves footy, that says it all really.

Mark Williams also said that he is the best player he has ever seen at his age. He is definetely going to be a future no.1 pick and the best thing is the crows will get him under the father son rule.

Good assesment there roodog. The only thing about Copping is that he does have talent hidden under there. He just somehow doesn't want to show if off.

Gibbs is indeed a freak, moves like a pro, for 15yo is a gun already. Wouldn't surprise me to see him playing SANFL next year.

Varcoe is a fine talent, super pace kicks goals and has leadership. Will go top 5 next year prolly.

Gavin Hughes from Norwood is also a player to watch. Mate of mine knows his brother, regulary in the best each week.

So in which year will we be able to draft Bryce then? 2006? Lets hope he can grow another 4-6cms. Great CHF prospect if he does.

i think at his age he could easily grow another 10-15cm... i was 170cm at 18 and 3 months later im what i am now of about 181cm. Ive seen the kid and he will definately grow more!

yes thunder that is the frustrating thing with Copping in there somewhere there is a whole heap of talent... he just hasnt learnt to use it yet, i saw him play back pocket in the 18s and he looked lost, personally id play him as a tall HFF, that we he can find his feet, this is at any level not just talknig AFL here!

Bryce is already around 187cm and seeing the size of his father I wouldn't think that sort of growth will be possible.

you wouldnt think so, but then again you wouldnt think that he would be that tall already! trust me he will grow more!

Even if he doesn't he will be the next big thing in AFL, and I mean seriously big. The best thing is that he will be a crow as well.

I think the Father Son rules will change before 2006.
Seriously, I fully expect it to happen.

if we get wood at 8 then we have to hope redden will be available at 24. or maybe if wood isn't available we might spring a suprise and take redden at 8.....

Wouldn't surprise me one bit if it did happen. I expect the victorian clubs to kick up a stink about it and the criteria is changed so that Bryce doesn't qualify and is picked up at #1.:(

man.. i'd be totally p*ss*d if we didn't get bryce for the father son rule and he gets picked with pick 1. But anything could happen to bryce.. theres still a long way to go

I remember reading that the father-son rules for SANFL and WAFL players are meant to expire 20 years after the club's inception. So for the crows that means it should go until 2011. By that time presumably there is enough history behind the club to generate their own father-son prospects.

It would be an absolute joke if we lose out on Gibbs after West Coast have already got Morton this year at a bargain. It says something about the inequity of the comp that as soon as we have an opportunity to get a gun player under the F/S rule, we fully expect them to change it.

Is there actually talk of the rules changing or is there just talk on this board because it would be just our luck to miss out on a gun youngster?
