Well another loss, another could have been game, another with a couple of positives and a lot of glaring negatives. It is apparent we can compete with teams but not for four quarters. What the missing ingredient is, I am not sure. Last year we came last and Fevola and Houlihan were public enemy number one with Blues fans, this year they are leading lights. Does this mean we are going to be better or have the rest fallen behind their level? Only the preseason but I am hoping like hell that Fevola, Whitnall and McKernan can all work together in our forward line. Surely we have to play Kouta in the centre as that is the only place he is damaging at present and we can win some games in a shootout as a result.

Fevola, Whitnall shine despite defeat

Must admit, I left the game thinking it might be a very long year. As we have thought all summer long, the back half is going to be our biggest problem in 2003.

Kouta lacked confidence and never really attacked the ball and got chopped up early by Richo. Coughlan and Bowden were pretty damaging in the midfield, as was Johnson.

Players that really need to find some form are Ratten, Campo, Beaumont and Lappin.

Unless these guys are injured, why didn't we play Justin Davies, Blake Campbell, etc over the weekend. Really like the look of both these kids.

Projected finish for the year: 10-14.
