Richmond got belted on Sunday. I didn't think the boys were playing too badly and always felt like they were just 2 consecutive goals away from being right in it. Yet the end result was an 8 goal loss. I've now come to accept that the Swans are much better than I thought they were and this loss was far from a disaster.
I digress though, as this isn't a(nother) thread dissecting Sunday's loss, it is more of a celebration of reaching the home stretch of the H&A season.
This weekend kicks off three consecutive Saturday afternoon games at the magnificent MCG.
It is a stone cold scientific fact that the only thing better than going to a Saturday afternoon game at the MCG is going to consecutive Saturday afternoon games at the MCG.
This is a thread of positives because we can all get a little gloomy after a loss. I'm particularly gloomy because I haven't yet been to the footy since the Roos smashed us.
What are you looking forward to over the next 5 weeks? Me, I'm thinking about:
- Three arvos in a row at the G.
- Getting to see the team test themselves against the best in the business. I'm confident they'll put on a good show.
- The chance of a confidence boosting win over the Lions if we can't quite get over the Hawks.
- Being part of a big crowd at the game against Carlton.
- Hitting September running with a big finish at the MCG against the Bombers.
- The prospect of purchasing my first finals tickets!
