It is pretty awesome. When i got home from my mates last night i stood in my driveway seein another mate off and the lightning show was sensational, forgot to get my digicam out as always.

Unless it's an SLR, you have almost no chance of catching it.

I shot these last night. Wasn't in the best location unfortunately. The last one was taken a couple of weeks back.

I came very close on a couple of occasions. Missed by like half a second twice.

You generally need a tripod and a slow shutter speed to get it. And because of the shutter lag with digicams, it's almost impossible. Unless you have pyschic abilities and can detect it a few seconds in advance

The photo's I took, my intention was to just take pics of the clouds. A split second before the photo was actually taken, there was a lightning strike. Bummer.

Takes a lot of patience. For one of those pics, I had my finger on the shutter for half an hour waiting for a strike.
