Picking it up tomorrow on 360. Played the demo to death, had enough extra features/courses to make it a worthwhile purchase.

Apparently it's got a few issues at the moment, mainly during online play. Bit laggy, players glitching a bit, the real face upload feature not working like it should.

I'd imagine they'll patch that sort of stuff pretty soon tho. I'm not sure why every online game doesn't release a beta to iron out these sorts of things. Makes the whole effort seem rushed.

Got it a couple of days ago for the Wii, its a different from last years. The putting is completely different...takes a bit to get used too

Having to start over on my career was a pain, but the tiger challenges have improved

Got the 360 version last night. Good game, but man its so frustrating being a noob with noob abilities.

My rookie can't hit it over a jam tin yet. Hit 85 in my first round. Lots of work to do i think.

i will get it at some point, but I hope it isn't as easy as the demo
3 holes -5 nearly every time

No way mate. I absolutely owned in the demo, different story when you start out in the main game.

You basically start as a weekend hacker. ie can only hit it 230yards, the aiming point is so massive its hard to hit a green let alone the stick, try to cut a corner over a creek and your player will choke and chunk the shot.

If you finish better than last, and 20 over, in your first tournament in career mode you're doing awesomely.

Tough game.

On that note, whats the best way to improve your golfers abilities as quick as possible? My rookie sucks balls atm.

that sounds like me when i play golf minus a flying club going nearly as far as the ball:D

I cracked the code last night. Just do a heap of the tiger challenges.

They start off pretty easy, you just have to beat a grumpy old bloke who hits it shorter than you. Winning them boosts your skills and unlocks new equipment that increases your power.

I found most of the skills challenges too hard with a stock golfer.

As for it being boring after 2 weeks, i dunno...its a golf game. Generally its the online play that keeps you coming back. And in this version you can not only play other people online, there's a new challenges feature. If you pull off something cool, you can upload it to the web and challenge others to do it, and gain points for doing it.

I recently bought TWG08 for the XBOX360.

Have got my golfer up to 50% in his skills and am currently tied for 2nd in the 3rd round.

Problem I'm having is that during Tiger challenges on random holes the bloody thing freezes. It doesn't seem to have any pattern.
Doesn't happen at all in any other parts of the game.

Has anyone else had this problem and what, if anything can be done to stop it from happening.

Both the console and game are practically new and I haven't had any other problems with the other games I have played.

The best way to do it I have found is to firstly tackle the skills training.
In each discipline pick an easy 1 and keep repeating as you build up your potential.

Once you have your potential where you want it continue with Tiger challenges.
The normal challenges will gain you money and potential and unlock courses and such, but your skill will boost up when you beat the players in the middle of each circle.

Good Luck.

From what i remember the game was full of a lot of bugs and glitches that would randomly freeze the game at certain times (most commonly as a course is loading). They did address most of the issues with a game update, unsure if it fixed everything. I havn't played the game since January (i'm slack lol).

Are you connected to Live at all and downloaded any updates for the game ?

Heh...its ok mate, well and truly conquered that game looong ago. My guy is 110% in every discipline pretty much, he's a machine:D

TBH i didn't bother with skills training that much until i just needed to tweak up my last few abilities to their max potential. I found i could smash through the Tiger challenges pretty easily without doing the skills tests, which earnt me plenty of cash to buy upgrades while upping my skills in the process.

Problem is you get too good if anything and the game becomes almost like a grind at normal difficulty, i was shooting -15 rounds pretty consistantly near the end. You can up the difficulty to hard, which takes away some of the assist tools and makes conditions a lot harder, but then it can sometimes get frustrating.

I still play it online with mates sometimes, always in the most ridiculous conditions possible to make it interesting.:D

and no, never had a freezing issue on the game that i can recall, sometimes the online used to be a bit glitchy but that was 95% fixed with the update.
