Tigers launch new era

TERRY Wallace yesterday launched the Richmond "rebirth" with the Ty Zantuck situation still clouded and the Tigers keeping a tight lid on the identity of its No. 1 draft choice.
There was also speculation that Greg Miller, the principal architect in Richmond's massive restructuring, could run for a board position.
Colleagues said Miller had always had the urge to participate at board level.
Miller was non-committal when asked whether he would nominate for the Richmond election next month.
Meanwhile, the Kangaroos decided this week not to continue with efforts to secure Zantuck in next month's pre-season draft.
Initially the Roos showed interest in the backman, who has fallen out with some key players at Richmond. But it appears the Kangaroos are not so keen on him now.
No other club has yet expressed an interest in Zantuck, who is still contracted to the Tigers, putting both the club and the player in an awkward position and a compromise a long way off.
Wallace called the Tigers together for their first official training session yesterday.
Former Hawk Mark Graham, training with the Tigers, was given a crude introduction to his new environment with a testing boxing session that left him ill, while Mark Chaffey was left with a bloody shirt after sparring against Joel Bowden.
