Game Day Tigers vs Crows -revenge is a dish best served at another time... probably.

We need to play smart (not really in line with our philosophy). They’re a pressure side and we are not. Our forwards aren’t quick enough to play the congest inside your forward 50 game and play for field position game that is all the rage at the moment. Marks inside forward 50 is key, or goals over the back, meaning blazing away from the centre is a damned strategy (especially considering Rance is back there to pick off high balls and our forwards arent contested marking machines either.) It helps that DMac isnt playing this consodered. But have to get good clearances and good efficiency to have a shot.

i want an (unlikely) win for all the reasons that will come up but also cos wiping the absolute smugness and cockiness attitude from the Tiger tosspot fans. I am beginning to despise them as much as Pap fans and i used to admire Tiger fans for thier passion for their team.

get it done and Tex or Fog .. make Rance cry into the turf every time he dives.

Obviously very unlikely, but get a win tonight and the whole competition will sit up and absolutely sh1t themselves. It would mean last year's minor premier is back in town, and everyone will be looking over their shoulder. Like I said, unlikely but...

I'm most interested in how we back up last week, not in skill and execution but rather our effort. How much fight do we have in us? Can Tex play more than one good game in a row before soreness/injury kicks in?

I think this will be an honourable loss. Tigers by 18 points.

Can't remember wanting us to win a minor round game more than this one.

There would be no more categoric statement that we've turned the corner in this shitful season, and would give the lads a massive confidence boost for the run home.

If it also hoses down the Tiger fapfest that's currently underway across the border, well that would be nice also.

Oh shit... that’s right... we’re playing tonight!.. with all the talk about rankine and just how the hell we can get our hands on him I forgot about this weeks game.

Anyways... we’re probably heading for a defeat on this one.. but as long as our youth stand up and sloane has a great game showing everyone that his recent injury woes are well and truely over I’ll be happy..

Oh, and I would love tex or fog to absolutely steamroll Alex “the diver” Rance... actually give the Oscar winner a real reason to go down!.

Just remember, if we are getting flogged.. sit back, relax and think about the better draft picks we will get.

I just dont think we are good enough to win this game. One qtr of good footy hasnt convinced me we are back.
Just need to show effort and not give up like previous losses this year.
Im not too fussed in the result but more in the application and bringing heat for 4 qtrs.

I think the rain makes Tigers the big favourites, we are too tall.

I think the dry makes the Tigers the big favourites, they are too fast.

I think the MCG makes Tigers the big favourites, we don't win there they don't lose there.

I think the fact they are a better team than us makes them the big favourites, I cannot even get close to comparing the lists right now.

We snuck past a massively depleted WC at home, very very very different story playing an in form top of the table Tigers at the G on a Friday night.

Honourable loss is about the best we can hope for imo. Will be a 100-1 type win if it happens.

Limiting Jack Riewoldt's influence inside the forward arc will go a long way to winning this one.
Fast footy and put your targets into space.

What's this talk of honourable losses by some of you ?

"There are no moral victories
or respectable losses
You either get the job done on game day or you don't "
Phil Walsh

So let's get the job done.

I get the feeling we will get a few suspensions out of this game. Our season is cooked, our 2018 season was sabotaged the day we lost the 2017 GF. The decision making processes of what we did since that infamous loss has tainted this team badly.

In a perfect world, I would rather our core players to have a decent preseason starting in August. Now is the time for us to play any kids that we havent seen so far this year so we can make informed decisions on our list management.

I don't think the Crows will win, but I want to see EFFORT. No fumbling, stumbling, tripping, or looking the wrong way, right from the start. That will show me where their heads and hearts are.

All the talk about how many wins we need to get means absolutely nothing unless we can play at our best against the absolute best. Tonight's game would tell us exactly where we stand in the AFL ladder scheme of things.

I just hope we play with that 4th quarter (last round) effort with intensity and composure. Tex and Sloane have been injured leaders, and hoping all the rest they've had this year is solely saved up for this game, and they pull out blinders! Win this game and it would mean:
- 2 games won this year against the Tigers.
- we win a tough match at the G
- we build a momentum
- other teams would take us more seriously
- the media would stop talking about Collective Minds
- fans would then realise our shitness displayed this year was more because of our ridiculous amounts of physical injuries!
- **** tanking, I think we still got some chance this year!

Or...lose it...and we can pack our bags for an early summer camp, and future media/fan feeding frenzy!

We mean - "we are going to get whacked - the best we can hope for is getting sort of close. The commentators will call it an honourable loss."

Agree about impact of 2017 GF, devastating second-half after the very strong form shown going into that match
For me, our season was cooked in final seconds of 4th Qtr vs Port. Win that game + not have Gov go down would have changed things significantly

You know that list of things you don't want to see have no link to effort right?
