AFL Club

What has happened to him? I remember someone from West Adelaide said that he was up there with Cooney as one of the club's best ever prospects. I also recall Jim Main saying in IF that he would end up a very good player.

What's happened to him? Injured?

Im pretty sure hes been playing in the 2s. Saw him celebrating at the GF too.

Correct, has been playing in 2's. Everyone that's seen him play still has high hopes for his future within the club.

Hope he gets a run this year.

Hit the weights and has put on a lot of muscle. Should play this year should be a top player if given the chance.

He should be just about ready, I would have thought.

In West Adelaide's junior premiership before he was drafted, Cooney was second best, Schmidt was best. Very smart player, but looked as if he needed to work on his fitness a bit at that time.

ive been waiting for this kid to debut for a while! he should definitley debut in 06 most likely early in the season! although it wont be easy holding a spot in the side with youngster like moore, vogels, malceski, mcveigh, bevan, willoughby, and a few others trying to push through for senior selection!

back to tim, from what ive heard everyone at sydney as high hopes for him, he playerd junior footy with johs willoughby and are simmilar types of players i hear

62 possesions last week in reserves. The guy is begging to get picked for a game in the firsts but there is just no room. Who do you drop? McVeigh and Malceski are ahead of him in terms of seniority and they have played well this year. You just can't drop them. Schmidt seems to be the Sam Mitchell type but we've got Kirky, Jude Bolton and Ablett to do that work. It will be interesting if we manage to keep this guy, it would be a shame to lose him.

I imagine he is keen to go anywhere that might give him a game. There is going to be a couple of just about ready made players leaving Sydney this year to go looking for seniors gigs.

No he doesn't at all. I played junior footy with Tim and spoke to him several weeks ago and he is very happy with Sydney. He is contracted through to the end of 2007 and isn't planning on leaving unless he is shunted out.

He's not keen on leaving Sydney according to this recent article:

http://sydneyswans.com.au/default.asp?pg=news&spg=display&articleid=268992

"I have never thought about leaving. We (the youngsters in the seconds) have just got to keep playing good footy for the match committee to pick us.

It is good to see other guys keeping their spots for the whole season after getting a chance, like Sean Dempster last year. I guess it pushes you knowing that if you do get a chance and perform well you can stay in there each week."
