Playing poorly or losing to a better team happens from time to time, but I think something more happened today and it doesn't bode well for the season.

Our backline, formally a strength, has been exposed as easily panicked under pressure. This was very clearly North's strategy today.

Our half forward line provides more bounce than a conga-line at fat camp, we have no defensive abilities in this area at all. The Doggies, Hawkes and North all proved this.

Thes are not just bad day things, these are game plan and personal things.

Love that highlighted comment! Needed a laugh and that hit the spot! :thumbsu:

One thing that really concerned me today, and the same thing happened a lot in the Bulldogs game, was how often the ball went behind the pack in the backline. That cost us at least 2 goals today, and a similar amount against the Doggies. In what ended up a close game, those goals were vital.

I really believe we need one or two players like Stokes, Varcoe, G.Ablett, Chapman or Djerrkura in the forward line at all times, to crumb off the pack when the ball hits the deck and to pressure the ball carrier on the rebound.

Yep I agree also, Djerkurra will be a great addition, so will SJ, gamble and a few others.

Something to look forward at, I hope others will see it this way also.
