I think he's been good but time off the park means he probably hasn't delivered value for money. I think the time to judge will be end of next season, as multiple posters have already stated, if we can get a pre-season and full season out of him he's a 60+ goal forward who has the additional benefit of making sure that Buddy isn't triple teamed

Good player, not quite worth the money but that's more so due to injuries than his output when he plays.

Our issue is with intelligence of movement in and around Tippett. If we had a legitimate crumbing forward around the goal square Tippett wouldn't get clobbered by the third man up all the time.

Just needs to stay on the park. Plays half a season's worth of games and kicks 30 odd goals. Would surely kick 60+ goals or even be in Coleman contention if available for majority of the season.

Camp him in the goal square. Taking note of Plugger's speech from best and fairest: if he's not within kicking range of goal then he's too far away from home. (except when rucking and rucking only). A small forward or two would also help, so he doesn't have to go for a second effort after bringing the ball down himself.

Always felt like Tippett should never, ever leave the forward 50. Have all that space to do whatever he wants in it. Have some speedy crummers like B.Jack if he can have a good preseason.

I have thought about b jack. I reckon he should be thrown into the team round 1 and say get to tippett's feet at EVERY contest and must register a minimum 6 tackles or he doesn't play the following week.

He is the only player capable of playing that role on our list

Brandon could be very good in that role.

Essentially this year with McGlynn getting sucked back into the centre - and becoming one of our most effective midfielders - we've lost that goal sneak from the mix.

He has shown he is capable of it, he just needs to produce week in week out.

Very quick , good around goals and a strong tackler

True. If you think of those we tasked in that role in recent years, they've all moved elsewhere.

Gaz has found a home in the backline
Cunningham is now enroute to AA defender status Nick Smith style.
Mitchell was only ever in there temporarily due to lack of room for him as an inside mid.

I guess right now Towers is the one most likely forming as a target, which might be his point of difference. But I guess with Goodes leaving at the end of next year, BJcould find a place forward if one is available?

It's as simple as Tippett"s best doesn't
Last for long.... Injury comes along and then it's back to a slow build up.
It's now three seasons in a row he has missed 7 games plus....

He is too fragile to give you any decent minutes in the ruck ...

Tippett Reid and goodes....
Very little pressure coming from them
Keeping the ball inside the forward
50...

Compare that to your nemesis ....
All of them mobile ... All them huge on pressure.... Even gunston buts more pressure on than the above three

At least One of Reid Tippett or goodes needs to go....to be replaced by a mobile mid sized forward who can tackle..
I'd like to see you win one before the squeeze comes on.

I just hope he can have an injury free season. When he's been fit he's been great, not sure on stats but must be averaging around 2 goals a game. He's only played about 10 games in tandem with buddy so that partnership will get better. Theres more areas of concern for us than tippett
