I was looking at possibly getting a DVD recorder with digital set top box built in. Since I'm moved out I don't have either but I don't miss them all that much. Eventually I will get one and with a few digital channels up and running now it is tempting to do so. On the other hand blu ray recorders have started hitting the shelves so since I'm not desperate it is probably worth waiting for those to drop down in price a bit.

What is everyone else looking at getting at the expense of our future tax dollars?

I might buy JB Hifi shares because they are going to benefit far more than the economy as a whole is going too.
