He said it was 2 x 20 mins halves, free flowing footy. Everyone played ok, Fev kicked 3 on Setanta (but setanta played well he said), Walker played very well on the wing, Carazzo very well and mentioned Grigg, Gibbs, Murphy as playing very well. Libba said Waite has been one of the most impressive during the pre season and Ackland and Cloke have been good too. Other than that it was just the usual stuff. Hopefully someone was there to give us a proper run down.

There is no such thing  two quarters is a half, so it was 2 twenty minute quarters... so they played a half of football.

Not really!

There is no such thing as two twenty minute halves unless they played 4 ten minute quarters.

Right. So basketball plays 12 min quarters but at international level they play 2 x 20 min halves. The same thing. Who cares. I was posting what the interview was about, no need to nit pick some crap like that

perfect. Kooley, be adult and admit you made a mistake and move on :thumbsu:
The terminology is wrong, that's my whole point. There is no such thing as two twenty minute halves. The twenty minutes needs to be split in two to become a half of football.

The terminology isnt wrong - the game was broken up into two sections.

When something is split into two sections it has been split in half and therefore has 2 halves

The fact it was 20 minutes was irrelevant - they played 2 halves that were 20 minutes each

You cant play 2 quarters of anything as that leaves it unfinished

They could have played 2 halves of 33 minutes or 8 minutes.

2 sections = 2 halves

For the record...............

Didn't think the concept of halves and quarters was so difficult, but there you go.
Thank god we got a solution. Now onto grade 4.
