This is especially for AWG and those interested in pre-season:

Went down to training this morning in the freezing cold.

The boys did a bit of skills, before some circle work and the some running and more running and more running! Scotland's skill were great as always - Fev looked comfortable back with the boys too (I have some footage of him giving Kennedy a hug - pretty funny).

Murphy looks like a leader even out on the track, that other photo being discussed is just a strange one - he looks fit as a fiddle; Walker was getting involved more today too. He did a fair bit of groin stretching which suggests to me that BW was right about the surgery. Ackland was on the track too - he looks like he is getting on well with the guys - looks taller than 196cm though - and was blowing pretty hard from all the running.

Setanta was restricted to running the boundary; Stevens looks much fitter - and I think that other photo is also misleading. Lance looks a lot trimmer as everyone says. Fevola is looking happy back in the embrace of the club too. Didn't see Lappin; Kouta or Simpson.

I saw Sticks and said hello, which was a bit of a highlight.

Will be heading down again on Friday- the weather should be better - and will get more video footage to add to what I got today (then will try to post some footage on youtube).

PEACE OUT:cool:

Thanks for the update WTR.

Did you take any pics?

Walker was on Nova this morning and confirmed he had groin surgery at the end of the season and said that he will be back to full training within two weeks. :thumbsu:

Can make some pics from the footage on my computer if you like - but software is back in Canberra - so will have to wait till this weekend. I just read that post about NOVA - lucky little ******** that girl is!

I went to Pearl Jam last night, they were great of course - but I can't say the same for the audience. I think about 70% were there just for better man. Would like to go on Friday night with the Carlton boys.

Might head out to the Harp of Erin tonight - would be good to see the lads for a beer. Felt like a bit of a tragic at the training as we were the only ones there.

Thanks for the information WTR. With work committments is is just about impossible for me to get down to training, so the posts on here are very handy. :thumbsu:

No worries peeps - I just finished my last uni exam ever yesterday and jumped in the car to Melbourne straight after. So I am enjoying the freedom before I have to start my articles in Feb:D

Can understand why you'd wanna get out of Canberra so quickly. *shudder*

Thanks a lot WTR. I really appreciate it. I can't get down to training as I live in Brisbane so I am always look out for news. Very happy they did some centre square work.

Looking foward to Friday.

Just to clarify - I did not see any centre square work, may have been before I got there if it happened - training started at 9:30 - we got there about 10:00. Ackland was running around a bit - but during the skills session it was pretty cold and drizzly so we were under cover of Social Club stand. Skills were more like Geelong triangle (but not exactly) with shots at goal and some passing around - was pretty relaxed - Fev was trying to soccer the goals and Waite & Betts were bouncing them through - Scotland was looking the best in that dept.

Also - Saddington, despite being in recovery group - doesn't look injured at all - no knee strapping - hope he is fit and well for the season, would be good to bolster our defence!

Did anyone who went to training see the two north ballarat boys who are supposed to be traning with Carlton? If so how did they look?

I saw a couple of guys I didn't recognize. 1 tall/lanky guy with short light brown hair, didn't look that young to me - and I have never seen before. Will take some photos tomorrow and post them up this weekend. Maybe someone can identify them for us.
