AFL site saying he still hasn't committed to the Magpies and his manager is taking the opportunity to look at other clubs, It's a bit worrying that they are suggesting the Freo may use eddy as part of their trading and he may go back home. I hope it's the other way around and we pursue Tom, that would be a great outcome for us,the two brothers together. I don't want edd to go , he has come on in leaps and bounds.

Could've got him for **** all 12 months ago. That ship has sailed. He was sensational in the finals and the Pies will desperately want to kkep him.

Really like him as a player and like the idea of the two brothers together here, but we are pretty set in his role with Ryan & Logue being similar players you would think.

From the West Australian :--

Out-of-contract Collingwood defender Tom Langdon is contemplating a move away from the Holden Centre, his manager Scott Lucas has confirmed.

It reportedly took Collingwood until Tuesday afternoon to offer Langdon a new contract, with the intercept-marking backman already weighing up his options elsewhere.

The 24-year-old has been linked with a move to Fremantle, where his brother Ed plays, on a long-term contract worth around $600,000 a season.

Either way it is smart. Put a big price on his head that no one else will pay and get through pre season draft. Or force Collingwood to stump up and then they can’t afford may, making the path easier for Melbourne to get him

600k?

I rate him, really competed in the finals, but that’s too much.

One thing I do like tho is if we got him the likelihood of ed leaving goes down and blakely will go into mids for sure.

600 a season doesn't seem massive overs. Likely means both brothers stay on the list too which is good news all round. Would not be disappointed to grab him.

Langdon has been good before this season.
But not as good as his finals series this year, which will be his price. Tom Boyd is an example, played like a champ with the doggies flag and has basically not maintained that form.

I just think exposed short periods of dominance are almost worth more than potential on the trade table, even though only the gun players hold onto it for more than a season or two. Jack Anthony had only 1 good season, someone like Ibbo probably had 2-3 great years which is more Tom Langdon's role.

I'd stay away, although dipping our toes in is probably a good sign for Ed Landgon that we like him.
