That's what I was thinking. Why not use pick 64 or 80. Why wait until the PS draft, where there is a chance the 12 teams ahead of us may pick him up.
I don't think there will be that many clubs ahead of us but generally clubs don't pick players that trained with other clubs. Unless of course they are cheap bastards like Port who can't afford to have the players to train with them because they don't have any spare jumpers around ;)

Ah, good to see the minds at the AFC have followed Bockchoy's advice. ;)

Given he's as fit as an ox, don't be suprised to see him tearing it up in the pre-season. Could be a real smokey as a late pick (64) in this year's draft.

People, don't just think he is a dud because he didn't make it at the Lions. When given a second chance plenty of people have gone on to change their careers around.

Plus the kid's an SA boy too. :thumbsu:

my understanding is that he is a Darwin lad who's parents moved to Adelaide ?

(also I think he is friends with Potential)

spot on bockchoy, everyone thought that with denis pagan too, that he never gave away good players, and look how mark stevens turned out :thumbsu:

any idea what sanfl club he's aligned to?

Tough as nails, Best of luck to the lad, would have loved him at Port but I just want him to have a good Career.

He was born in Adelaide then his family moved to NT where he grew up. His family moved back to Adelaide a while ago so I would suspect there wouldn't any homesickness issues from him.

With his family back in Adelaide, I would suspect that Adelaide is home these days.

He is not aligned to SANFL club since he never played SANFL ;)

If he does get picked up by either Crows or Port, he will have to go into the SANFL mini draft like every other new recruit that hasn't played SANFL before.

my bet is that he will end up at Port since (apart from our first 2 picks at 16,17) Port have a pick ahead of each of our picks thereafter

i just hope that its not a repeat of the Danyle Pearce episode of last year

don't worry stiffy - i am sure homesickness won't be a problem - just ask Trent Hentschel next time you see him ;)

Then so be it. You wouldn't go getting in a bidding war for him. If he's still available at pick 64 then we should grab him. Our first 4 picks should be used on 18 year olds. Although, if we do like the look of him I hope we don't leave it to the PS draft as there will be 12 clubs with picks before us.

I'm interested how we rate this guy...went pick49 in the 2003 draft...was that the Cooney draft?
Others were Tenace, Ray,Raph Clarke & Pettigrew etc.
Was this a really strong draft?
Who did we prefer to him that year?
In what is seen to be a weak draft this year...will he be picked up earlier than 49?
Anybody care to speculate at what pick he'll go?

Hold your horses Johnny,
we're talking about a delisted kid. not some superstar.

And let's not be too quick to anoint Pearce as a great mistake just yet, this same time last year people were saying the same about Surjan.

We don't even know if we want logan, let alone fret about whether Port picks him up. He's training with us, I imagine because he's an SA lad, more than being our no.1 be all and end all target. He'll be here anyway, why not look at him on the track.

No there won't. every year teams do not participate for a combination of no list spots and salary cap reasons.

we'd pick around no.5 if we wanted to.

The fact that we have invited him out to PS training would indicate we won't make a decision until after then. So i doubt very much if we would pick him up with a late pick in the national draft.

sorry Springy,
I was talking about the PSD.

Get the tape as I am sure he played quite well against us this year.

Liked his pace and his hardness at the ball. Left footer too - will be important for breakaways on the left side of the field from center when goodie is not there.

He could be a handy pick up.

2003 Draft was a pretty good draft..
We took Watts @14 and Krueger at 31 then Ben Hudson at 58.
Waters went at 10 to WestCoast while Buchanon went to Sydney at 45 and Pettigrew to Port at 46.Interestingly Shane Tuck wasn't picked till 73.

Logan as we know was selected at 49...
At the time the AFL report on him said.

Medium, inside forward/midfielder who has great endurance. Natural leader with a tremendous work ethic. All-Australian u18 in 2003 playing for NT. Recorded the best 3km time trial run at the 2003 National Draft camp and was also in the top 10% for agility, shuttle run and running vertical jump (right).

I had a look at the round2 game he played against Port Adelaide here this year.

He would be a terrific addition to our side..tough,fearless and runs all day. Very good balance, not easily pushed around either. With a bit of confidence that a few games would develop he could make a very good inside midfielder.
His disposal is good especially on his natural side. But the upside from what i've seen is very promising. If he has a fantastic preseason and provides some evidence of the endurance and stamina, the engine appears to be big enough to make a strong midfielder. He certainly gets to a lot of contests and is fiercely competitive at them.

are we sure the Logan will even be doing pre-season with the Crows ?

Channel 9 reported that he would be earlier this week.

They said that he would be returning to South Australia and would be doing his pre-season with the Crows.

They used the eye catching headline prior to the sports section of "the Lion who wants to become a Crow"

Yeah according to another one of his mates he's moved back here, so.
