Yep the ridiculous hype coming from Saints fans really did push up his value. Think we sucked you in good and proper!

On serious note, it was no surprise to me (and few others that saw him weekly) that he never delivered. He really was extremely average in AFL.

Makes it all the more funny now in retrospect that Plugg3r actually paid real money to change his username to "The Tommy Gun", Tommy Walsh avatar and all :D

I remember reading when he was traded to the Swans a Swans supporter said "St kilda seem to develop out forwards for us", had to laugh.

I was so pissed. Laughing now tho.

We should hype up our duds more because in hindsight he did absolutley nothing to demand anything more than 68. Certainly no more than Tom Lynch, and he went for less!

Wish Raph got us something decent. :(

Cannot believe that Sydney fell for the same trap - he is not an AFL standard forward. The difference in standard between him at full back (versus other roles in the VFL) was enormous.

(although I still think he could have been handy for us last year in defence given our injury woes)

Mind you, Adelaide still seems to think Lynch is a forward too.

Will be interesting to see if both get the flick at the end of this season.

Will we get to the stage under Pelchen where we cant find a club to trade with us, as he doesn't give, or trade, gems away?

Is this making Essendon nervous with Goddard, or do they have enough things to worry about already?

Pick 35 and 68?

.
That is Markworth and Maister...so we are looking way, way in front.

Maister I expect to play a lot of games as a key forward this year....and the young Markworth looks to have talent. Pity he did his knee this pre-season.

Newne's looks to be a better than average player in the making and so is an upgrade on Lynch.

Tommy still has another season. he might still come good. let us not dig at sydney yet.

I found myself hoping he would fail and then I remembered it was quite brave of him to come across as a potential key forward and really he left for the correct reasons. I doubt Ross would have given him much time.

So I wish him all the best, just no luck in affecting us in any negative way of course.

I may of started a twitter campaign asking him to stay.

I'll take personal responsibility for Markworth ;)

He could have walked as well, right?

Man I really wanted him to stay too. You never know, he's still got time. I wish him luck still, so long as he doesn't win another flag before we do, and so long as Wilkes and Markworth are better than him :D

I am quite confident that Wilkes is better than him :D

"Disappointing news with John Longmire confirming Tommy Walsh will miss the remainder of the year with a serious hamstring injury."

On their Twitter.

Love him or hate him - you gotta say the guy has no luck. I guess an AFL career just eludes him.

Twanged it off the bone :(.... Arguably more brutal than an ACL
