Both ch 7 and 10 are the Collingwood of the media now. The rarely like to commentate outside of Melbourne now and leave most interstate broadcasts to foxtel.

Yep agreed, can't stand Shaw, another Vic who has no knowledge of our team. Can't for the life of me work out why he refers to us as "Adelaide Crows" every single time he is mentioning team play. We know the full name Shawry, just "Crows" will suffice.

He gets bonus points every time he says a three syllable word !

Shaw is a joke. No idea at all.
I remember hearing a story about him as Coach at Collingwood. He recruited a player from another team and during the pre-season sat the player down to declare that "You probably won't get much of a run with us as you are a bit slow and can't kick very far".
Apart from the obvious question as to why he didn't know that before trading for the guy, apparently the bloke in question looked Shaw up and down and said "gee thats a bit ironic don't you think?"

Also interestingly Bernie Vince is in fact David Mackay, and both are Nathan van Berlo.

I don't know why I think this, but i've always thought of Dwayne Russell as a poor man's Dennis Cometti. I think it might've been the voice, i've always found his voice to be similar to Cometti's. Don't ask why.

Grybas was the worst, if I had to list to one more Seppo basketball inspired phrase like 'getting the job done', 'going down town' etc I would have hunted him down and smacked him in the head with a can of cheese-wizz, Thank **** they got rid of John Casey who was just another basketball calling clone trying to mimic him. I'd rather listen to Wallsy and Flogermain prattle on that those two.

people worry if the player pool is big enough to handle 18 clubs - I don't think there's any question about the commentator pool. there's barely enough talent to competently call 4 matches a weekend, let alone 9.

Not as stupid as it sounds Carl You would get some awesome callers I am sure!! Love listining to Rex Hunt and he got his job by sitting at the G, recording himself and sending it into the radio station! Get people that can call the game rather than ex players etc.
