Top 10 fav current pies

Thought I'd go for something a little more positive. Your favorite current pies ordered in a top 10.

1. Pendles, no explanation needed.

2. Howe, just heart and soul and spectacular

3. Sidebottom, we will all miss what we have when he is gone.

4. Treloar, I know he butcher's it sometimes, but he always finds it, I like the guy and still hope he has another level to go to.

5. DeGoey, match winner, when he becomes what Pettacca is now, mid fwd mix, we will be at our best. Who would have said that before this season!!!?

6. Langdon, some will already know that I love the guy, fearless overhead and composed, would have liked some more strength through the body for one on ones, but he has been badly missed.

7. Maynard, gets better every year, will be an AA level defender for years to come.

8. Crisp, he just always plays and has that speed and line breaking that we often miss. When he is at his best, we rarely lose.

9. Grundy, this may be lower than most others would have him, but I think he has been a tad overrated. Hasn't really taken a big game by the scruff of the neck and often turns the ball.over horrendously. That's what has him this low for me. Still, his efforts when the ball hits the ground are generally Herculean.

10. Adams, he took Heath Shaw away (in my mind and Shaw was my fav player) so he could never be top 5, but he has lifted in big games and you could never question his effort.

Next: Moore (skyrocketing), Elliott (holding ground) Stephenson (dropping), Quaynor (up like a bullett).

Nice idea.

1. Pendles: been my favourite player for as long as I can remember. Best Collingwood servant I've seen.

2. Moore: love the change of pace he brings as a person and as a player, very refreshing.

3. Grundy: love seeing him impose himself on games, having a down year but so are innumerable others.

4. Sidebottom: sometimes tries to be a bit cute, but one of the most naturally gifted players ever, and a premiership winner.

5. Maynard: gotta love a true mongrel in the back-half. Helps that he's a really damaging rebounder too.

6. De Goey: genuine match-winner at FF who can play in the middle too. Barometer of our team.

7. Crisp: Mr Consistency. Doesn't miss games, and closing in on his 150th.

8. Adams: gives it his all every time. His disposal often leaves me wanting, but anyone who gives half as much effort as Adams does is respectable.

9. Daicos: such a clean user of the ball, and is starting to really come into form as a wingman / half forward.

10. Mihocek: gotta respect someone who never gives up. Goes from VFL back-men to genuine AFL half forward. Our own Podsiadly

Love this idea. I needed something more positive to think about:

1. Pendles - Our king

2. Adams - Currently holding the midfield together. I think he's taken his game to a new level

3. Howe - The rock of our backline (and possibly even the team). Everything started falling apart when he went down.

4. Maynard - Pushing for AA this year and is one of our few shining lights

5. Sidebottom - Old faithful. Will always have a lot of love for Sidey.

6. Mihoceck - Serious man crush vibes. Bargain pick up and has been our most solid forward for a few years now.

7. Moore - Would potentially be #1 if he could get his body right consistently. Absolute star in the making.

8. Grundy - Should be much higher, but has seriously been outworked this year. Playing the way he is after paying him what we did is starting to leave a bit of a sour taste in my mouth.

9. De Goey - Most exciting player we've had at the club for a long time. Should be top 3 but he's let us down a lot.

10. Crisp - Sharpest set of steak knives you'd ever see.

Special mention: Noble (really enjoying his game this year), 2017/18 Treloar (please come back), Elliott (not the danger forward we're all used to, but enjoying him in the midfield), IQ (looking forward to seeing what he becomes)

I love a positive thread. Doesn’t do me any good to dwell on negative thoughts.

1: Pendles - he’s something special and we should treasure every game we have him for. He’s going to be the player you‘ll tell your grandkids about.
2: Maynard - because I was harsh on him in his early days and is proving me spectacularly wrong. Gives everything.
3: Moore - the father/son rule is the best thing in footy. Can’t wait for the day I can watch Darcy without crossing my fingers about his body holding up.
4: Grundy - the player I reckon I’d get on with the best outside of footy. Love his attitude towards life.
5: Adams - the most committed player, gives his all constantly.
6: Crisp - the greatest steak knives you’ll ever see
7: Howe - the best speccy artist of our times
8: Mihocek - one of the great stories. Key defender gets told 7 years in a row he’s not in the best 100 prospects and then gets a chance up forward and grabs it with both hands.
9: Steele - won’t ever forget the fresh faced teen who was so good in both GFs in 2010
10: Elliott - another with a great story of grabbing a second chance.

Apologies to most others. I really can’t think of anyone who I actively dislike.
