Hey guys a serious question.. out of the remaining finals sides are st kilda one of the teams you didn't want to play first up?
Or do you guys see this as an easy game?
IMO you guys are that damn good that you should account for us but i just feel our forwards mite cause some damage...

Anyway congrats on a fantastic season and good luck on grabbing back to back flags... :thumbsu:

I rate them in this order. (hardest to easiest)

1. Hawthorn
2. Adelaide
3. Bulldogs
4. St.Kilda
5. Collingwood
6. Kangaroos
7. Sydney

I honestly see it as a pretty easy game

(so do the bookies it seems, they have you paying like $6 for a win)

Probably a good thing to be playing against your forward line as it will be good practice in preparation for Hawthorns forwards (who i see as the only real threat)

Yeah honestly I am not bothered by who we play, it's more how we play.

As Bomber Thompson said to the team before they smashed Port by 119 points in the GF, "If you guys do what you have done all year and play our way, we win the game... If every bloke plays their role, plays our way, then we win. There is no question."

Call it arrogance, call it over-confidence, call it whatever you like - but it's fact.

Really? I would have preferred to play Adelaide (at TD or G) than Saints.

But completely agree with you on Hawks. Would be awesome if North could send them packing again, but doubt that would happen again.

I would put Kangas above Collingwood too, but generally agree with that order..

The only team that gives me butterflies are the Dawks. Even then i'm not that worried.
Saints were very lucky to get 4th spot.

In the order of the teams I least want to play:
1. Hawthorn

2. Bulldogs
3. Kangaroos

I think Adelaide has a game style that will work well for Finals footy. I think they will make the Prelim, but whether they can get over the Hawks or not is another thing. Would back them in a final over the Dogs.

The rest have no chance...

I wanted to play St Kilda though.

I hate the way Adelaide play..

Dogs dont have much left in the tank, imo. And experience can count for quite a bit in finals too, which they are lacking.

I've been worried about the Dawks from day one...

I didn't want to play Collingwood first up. They structure really well to stop the run out of defence and away from packs

I think Cats midfield are too good for other teams. If the other side can break even, then the matches are decided elsewhere on the park. That is why Hawks are such a threat because their forwards could go crazy. Without Egan we are vulnerable to sides with truly big forwards like Cloke and Franklin. I don't count Riewoldt as a truly big forward like J Brown because he uses his height and athleticism but not so much his strength

Saints would be a chance with Ball though but I think weight of numbers will be too much for Hayes Nick DS and their crew at the MCG which is a larger ground

If Saints can win this weekend without Ball, then well done to them!

Very true but the saints will have to pull out somthing pretty special to win or to stay close for that matter..
What do you think the crowd will be?? Should be the 80k mark yeh??

Geelong v North last year was about 80 so you'd hope for something bigger this time considering North's postage stamp size of a suburb

I'm confident that we can account for any team if we play to our best standard. Although i think i'm a bit more cautious because it's finals time and anything can happen.

Hadn't really considered that the Saints rarely play at the G!

I was so happy (for football) that we didnt play Adelaide. We would have given them a bath, easily 80+ probably over 100.

We should still beat the Saints but I think this might be the close final out of the first two we play.

I'd have Hawthorn as our biggest threat now. I must admit that has changed through out the year but heading into September id definitely say the Hawks.
Followed by yeah.....probably StKilda. just because they have a lot of experienced personal that, should they all click on their day, could cause a boil-over. Guys like Riewoldt, Hayes, harvey, Kozi etc. and a few in form stars like Fisher and Montagna.
But i honestly think it's going to take a combination of that AND the Cats having an off day for us not to go through this finals series like a hot knife through butter.
I suppose that was keeps everyone interested. The fact that they may have an off day. They are human after all.

Hawthorn for me are the obvious threat but I don't think their midfield is good enough, they have some stars but nowhere near the depth of Geelong. You have to respect their forwards with Franklin, Roughead, Williams and Rioli but we have the best defence in the league.
On paper Geelong's defence will go better against their forwards than their defence will go against Geelong's forwards.
That leaves the midfield where Geelong have the definite advantage.

Saints not in the same stratosphere.

I think your spot on, your midfield is the best the leauge, but you dont want to take your foot off againts us With the likes of Sam mitchell, Hodgy, Crawf, Swell and lewis can do some serious dammage.

But' C'mon you must be counting down the days till your next flag, as Agent Smith in the matrix would say " it's Inevitable"
