With King, Ottens, Playfair, Kingsley, Egan, Scarlett, Harley and Mooney coming in next week ( I am guessing at Gardiner's expense ) are we too top heavy.

We will get a good idea what the selection panel think is our best 22 as all are available this week.

too top heavy? are you joking? To have all the big men in will benefit us IMMENSELY!

things may be on the up for our cats! We need all of them to play!:thumbsu:

They will all be in there.... I think Monica should be in there also but for who?

The VFL had a week off so I doubt he will be back this week. Just outside our 22 anyway IMO.

As for being top heavy, Kingsley, Mooney and Harley in his current state are just tall flankers really. Scarlett can play small as well. Not a big problem, especially against the pies who will go in with Presti, Wakelin, Clement, Maxwell, Tarrant, Rocca, Cloke, Fraser and maybe Richards.

Not too top heavy at all. Mooney can play any position, and Kingsley's inability to jump or put his arms above his head cut a foot off his height.
Means we can get more run out of the back flankers in DJ, Dasher, Hunt etc if they're not having to "play tall".

Forecast is for rain all weekend so that might change things a bit - compared to last week at the dome.

Mooney in for Gardiner would be the obvious one at this stage ........ like the idea of Monica in to give us another option on a Didak or Davis (who I thought was great in the 2nd half on the weekend).

Playfair at CHF still the go in heavy conditions as he's great at directing the ball to the waiting Ablett or Chapman.

Hope SJ is fit after his clash with Hamill's knee as he stands out in wet slippery conditions.

Playing 8 talls in a team of 22 isn't really very top heavy if you have a lot of interchange rotation as Geelong does. They won't all be on the ground at once. Harley will be used sparingly over the next few weeks, King & Ottens won't play more than 80 minutes a game for the whole season (barring unforseen injury) and Henry and Egan are both carrying suspect shoulders, so there is the likelihood of regular benchings for them too.

Do you think Kingsley will get himself out of this form slump and perform a bit better during the rest of the season? He has always been a solid 40-50 goal per season player, I am sure it is just a temporary slump.

I think he will...he is never going to be the type of player that thunps through 70-80 for the year, but he's more than handy when he is in form.
