Torn Calf???

[FFC + BBFC = BBFFC]

g'day, I recently tore my calf during footy, and i'm just wonderng if anyone else has experienced the same thing?
Physio says should be back in 6 weeks, although i cant walk on it after bout 72 hours??
Any insight into similar injuries would be greatly appreciated.

one of the worst muscles you can strain. Generally takes a long time to recover. Best to be cautious with it, cos if you come back to early it will probably go again.

Torn/strained my six times last year, now I am suffering from compartment syndrome. Give it plenty of rest.

Torn calves are a shocker. I did mine playing softball in year 11 Could barely walk for weeks. Unfortunetely then I broke my ankle and calf was long forgotten

Yeah i tore my calf once, tried to come back to early and did it again. Take your time with it. Dont rush back you will be better in the long run.

3. When could you walk on it? how long after the injury? (similar to question 2)
4. Which muscle did you guys do??

tore mine in a friendly kick of a soccer ball. funny cause it hurt like hell, and when i looked down a part of the calf was throbbing. it was gross. went to drs, put on crutches. lasted 1 day on them then i was fine!

couldnt help laughing at "had a good year"....
so the message that seems to be coming across is be careful....sounds like one of the most common muscle recursion injuries...like the hammy..
