Going by Bomber Thompson's comments Re Bartel before the Dees game, it would appear that he's not a huge Bartel fan. Referring to him "Being lucky to be in the team" a bit harsh on the kid there I reckon.

Bartel was lucky to be in the team. You only have to read a few Cats fans message boards to realise that. His game against north a few weeks ago was shocking. All coaches have a young player picked out that they love to ride. They think it will help them get the best out of them. It happens at every team and in every sport. Some players respond to praise some dont. Dont go reading too much into Bombers comments.

P.S To Every Dees supporter We also got pick 17 for Bizzel which we used to get James Kelly. Not that you would know it reading Bizzel threads on BigFooty. Kelly will be a very good player and I think that this trade will be one of those ones that goes down as a win-win for both parties in the long run

So please Dees fans stop going around saying that it was the greatest steal of all time.

We have had this argument with Cat fans long ago (JUB JUB, P&P, Catman etc.) and it's quite clear between everyone what we got from each deal.

That being said, at this current time, I think the deal was and still is a steal. Who's to say that Kelly WILL be a star? He had a good year in 2002, but done nothing this year. Bizzell has been sensational from Day 1.

Steal.

Bizzell has done well in defence at Melbourne. He wouldn't be playing that spot if he was still at Geelong, because we have those spots covered [Scarlett,Harley,Rooke or Graham].

How has he gone up forward in games for the Dee's ?
He got slaughtered by Tom Harley on friday night. Why did Daniher not leave him defence ?

Because Daniher is a w*nker. He played Miller at full back after playing him at CHF for the last month and a half, and with great success. Harley beat Biz for sure, but in his defence, he has barely played a game up forward for us since he got here, and therefore would be pretty rusty. He's always been our springboard from defence, and we missed that badly Friday night. Why Daniher did it is beyond all of us.

Also because, we're experimenting. Milburn tagged him in defence first time around & I reckon ND was attempting to be Pro-active for a change.

It didn't work but I'd persist with it.

He would be a walk up start to your defence. He isn't really a key defender.
