Hi all,

I wondered down to training today and below are my observations:

It was a tough training session, it went for over 1 an half hours. Perfect conditions for it to!

Bucks wasnt there, but I presume he was at the season launch with Maxwell. Harvey took the session, with the assistants.

Beams- He trained with the group, but left early with a number of VFL players, I presume he is playing this week, but not 100% sure.

Wood- He trained at the start of the session like Beams & left early. He is definetly playing in the VFL this week, as I asked him!

Brown- Trained for the whole session & looks fit, he will no doubt be eased into the season and most likely play in a week or 2 via the VFL.

Tarrant- He trained the whole session and looked good, I have a feeling with his age that he wont be playing VFL & have a 6 day turn around & be brought staright back in the seniors to play the Hawks. Just my opinion, but I think he will be playing come round 1!

Didak- He started with the main group and then went the other oval with Johnson & did a workout out with a fitness guy. He was pushed to the limit & was on his knees alot gasping for air. He worked really hard, but showed no signs of injury. Although he will most likely play in a week or 2 and via the VFL.

Johnson- See Didak..

Maxwell- didnt train and was at season launch. word is he is going to be ok come rnd 1

Wellingham- trained with the main group, but left early, not sure if he is going to be playing thos week in the VFL or not. Looked ok though & not injured. He will be back against the blues come round 3..

other than that the boys trained well & full of voice...

So in summary I think that Tarrant, Wood & Beams (if he plays in VFL this week) will be in contention for round 1! That would be a huge bonus if we could get these guys up.

Johnson & Dids arent to far away & I suggest that they will be in contention for senior selection rnd 2 or 3 at the lastest.

Brown- looks like the club is holding him back, as he has been in full training for months & will be eased via the VFL..

If we can be 2 & 1 after 3 rounds & get no more injuries, we should be in good condition, as we would have a full list except Krak & Caff.. scraping early wins with our underdone list will be vital!

Questions fire away

Did Young, Rounds, Seeds, Yags & Paine all do alot of training with the seniors?

Did they appear to play key roles in any match simulation, if any?

I'm trying to get an idea if they are likely to play round 1.

Isn't the game 2moro at 11am meaning a full 7 day turn around? Thanks for the report though :thumbsu:

Yes they all trained with the senior group today & they were all involved in match simulation.. I would say that with our injuries, we will see 2 or 3 players debut.

Yes your right, I thought it was on Saturday!

That sure makes sense as to why Whitts, Beams, Wood, Williams etc left early and really didnt train much.

I know Wood is playing, but not sure about Beams.

No way Taz is playing, as he trained the house down today

If Taz trained as well as you suggest it would be unlikely that he'd be to picked for tomorrow's match, but we'll see.

Wow! Good news at last. Tarrant back against the Hawks would be brilliant. Beams would be a bonus, and even Wood could put his hand up. What you said about Brown's training and recovery was very reassuring, and it is better to ease him back in as you suggest. Nice report!

Reckon they willease them back slowly.

As many have said, there is a real thought that round 1 is less important than having players up and running during the season.

So a lot of these blokeswillbe eased into the year.
