Just finished my first year of uni, doing Business Information Systems degree at RMIT. Got a GPA in the high 60s and just want to know how hard is it to transfer into Monash for the same course. It says you need a credit average which I have but I would have thought you'd need higher.

Also can you transfer on direct entry or do you have to do it through VTAC? Anyone whose had any experience with transferring your input would be greatly appreciated. Even if its not into monash, I just want to know how you went about it.

thanks for any responses :)

Hey man, my close relative did the same course as you and transferred to Monash Clayton - Businss info systemz . He said you needed a credit average to successfully transfer (in the 60s or something)

I think you should be sweet. I think you have to do it via vtac, i emailed Deakin last time regarding transfers and they told me to fill out the pi form too, any work experience...etc :S

I can only tell you how it works in NSW, but I assume it'll be similar in Victoria...

99.99% chance you'll have to transfer through VTAC.

The university you're transferring to will likely look at a combination of your ENTER score and your tertiary GPA. At the university of Sydney, most courses looked at a 50/50% combination of your UAI and GPA. So you needed to have an ENTER score within the vicinity of the ENTER cutoff for the course you're transferring into. If it's too far below, it becomes nearly impossible to make up the deficit with a strong GPA.

Your best option is to give Monash a call. They'll have a prospective student advice line/e-mail service, and they'll be able to tell you the deal far more accurately than you'll get on an internet forum.

Make an appointment and go to see the head of the relevant department at Monash, in person. There's no point in involving yourself in the bureaucracy that is VCAT if there is no hope of succeeding.

Edit: Oops, meant VTAC, of course.
