Multiplat Transformers: WFC

Downloaded the online multi player demo the other night. Enjoying it so far, being a '80's child still have a soft spot for all things Transformers.

Only issue is no Stan Bush music so far.

Getting some great reviews including a 9 from IGN.

Definitely looks like something to pick up and the co-op looks wicked fun. IGN were right when they thought this could be the Arkham Asylum of this year (as in a licensed game being very good!).

the game is pretty awesome tbh

i'm only one chapter into the decepticon story but enjoying the gamestyle so far.
only problem for me is that i wish there was a sprint button or something coz sometimes i want to move quicker than they let me and it feels like you should be able to just a tiny bit when there is a bit of room to move.

also got to add that it is possibly the most complete title of this entire generation.
not only is there 2 seperate campaigns to play through as an autobot for one and a decepticon for the other but you can play them both in co-op.
it also has a co-op horde type mode which i know i'm going to love.
and it has what has been described as an amazingly addictive multiplayer mode which is alot different to how we've played it before....look forward to giving it a whirl.

can't believe how quietly it was released.

The "scout" character in the Multi player mode has a sprint boost ability. Also I've noticed you can power boost in your vehicle mode.

on a downside it sorta gives me a bit of a headache when playing kind of like dead space did though i think i'll suck it up for this game

i think it might have something to do with the placement of character on screen or something

The "scout" character in the Multi player mode has a sprint boost ability. Also I've noticed you can power boost in your vehicle mode.

yeh you can boost in vehicle form but it doesn't feel the same as what a run sprint would be...i guess they are giant robots though

and the player i'm using is megatron and his special abilities are a power hover which makes the weapon damage even stronger for a period of time and sort of a draining power that it steals enemies power and restores your health while you can still shoot etc....another character i could choose of the 3 had the boost ability but i couldn't go past playing as megatron.....i mean come on now hehe

Just finished it. Was suprised it was selling so cheap at JB Hifi ($59). As an old school transformers fan this game was everything i wanted a transformer game to be. Looks excellent, controlled well, transformations worked well in battle, interesting story and most importantly it made me forget about the horrible 2 movie tie in games. Autobot story was definately better as you get to fight proper decepticons like Starscream and Soundwave (with his cassettes) rather than waves and waves of the same looking drones.

Hahaha yeah, even though they give you a choice of 3 characters there was no way i was using anyone but Megatron and Optimus Prime

Well I was going to buy this after work today but then did a bit of research and the multiplayer is online only - no split screen. It is a joke that so few games have split screen these days.

i got my copy for 75 (jb as well) and used my last gift voucher on it for the ps3 but if you got it for 59 nice work


gotta add that the trophy integration in this game is the best this gen after quantum of solace imo.
every level you beat you get a trophy for but there is also another trophy for a set objective within that level which is how more games should have the trophies/achievements set out.

not going to play it again til monday but looking forward to getting back into it

wow...nah i got it on day one as well and pretty certain that has nothing to do with pricing....
over time the games vary in price but not so much after day one

either the 360 version is just cheaper or you got lucky
either way nice work! haha

yeh i have a friend who got it on the weekend for 59....
i wanna know why it's so freakon cheap and why at both chadstone and doncaster when i went to get it, it was 75

oh well....not as if i paid for it anyways so can't really complain

holy shit!

i just tried out the multiplayer even though i've only beaten chapter 2 atm and it's absolutely amazing!
i can see why the review people were raving about it!

the changing of forms is extremely tactical and opens up so many possibilities in the online landscape.

i was lagged quite heavily even though i clicked on regional (since when are japanese and americans classed as from this region?) but not even that could stop me from enjoying a multiplayer as much/almost as much as kz2 and cod4 in their respective primes (no pun intended).

i think i may have found my new online addiction.
just have to make sure i finish both campaigns before going all out

yeh it's really good

just need to find non laggy games coz it was EXTREMELY hard to win one on ones....
in fact i probably only won 30% of them (and it was def the lag coz my shots were nailing them on my screen) but i loved it because it was real battles and not people just hiding on a roof or in a 2nd story room like i had become accustomed to since the release of the game that shall not be named.

the maps are excellent (from the few i played).
the weapons are pretty cool (a few duds).
the specials work well.
transformations are very important and add heaps to the speed and tactics of the game.
it's class based and most skills/weapons/specials/team buffs are for certain classes only and the diff transformations change with each class...one has a jet (awesome), one has a armored truck type vehicle, and one was a faster on wheels vehicle from the three i tried.
also it has the 3,5,7 killstreak setup which is different for each class and can help turn the tide of battle but none seem to be overpowered from what i've seen so far...(mainly team armor buffs and radars and emp bombs etc..)

i'll beat the game first then give the mp more of a shake. (which probably means i won't jump on, on the w/e)
