Was talking to an anaesthetist, this weekend, who works at the Royal Adelaide Hospital. He told me that the opinion of an orthopaedic surgeon he has spoken to, who is familiar with Trent's injuries and his operation, is that Hentschell will never play football again.

Very sad news if this turns out to be true. The vision of his leg being bent out of shape was sickening at the time. No one wants to see a player's career be interrupted let alone ended in this way.

I hope Hentschell can prove the surgeon wrong.

yeah I heard that one too......and they hadn't bothered examining him either before making a prognosis. ....

It's a shocking injury and I don't think anyone would be surprised if his career is over...........but on the up side it's heartening to know we have so many gifted orthopaedic surgeons in Adelaide.....:thumbsu:

We know that is a bold faced lie to start of with because anyone who has stayed or has visited anyone at the Royal Adelaide Hospital knows that no body actually works at that place.

Bugger of back to bay 13 Toot and keep your trolling at a place it is actually welcomed.

Delete this troll.

It's called doctor patient confidentiality.

Toots, this is sinking to a new low, you are a disgrace.

His strength was at ground level, even if he still plays he wont ever play the same role that he did for us. Why are people on this board so scared of trolls? toughen up!

I think he might be able to play but will never be as agile again. I think his movement will be a bit hindered and won't be AFL standard again. Its great to see him trying, I really really hope he can make it still but I think it is unlikely.

The pessimists are predicting ....never play again, the optimists are predicting ...as good as ever

Fact is none of us, including the surgeon know how Hentschell's body will recover.

Some people have wonderful recuperative powers ...whilst others take months to recover from a simple bruise.

Hentschell did badly break an ankle in his first year ...seemed to recover OK ...who knows how he'll respond?

So the biggest Crows troll on bigfooty talked to a friend of a guy who is familiar with the kind of injury that Trent copped.
Yeah, ******** off Toots.

Amazing what modern science can do Tootsie. Make full prognoses without examinining the patient.

I can only re-post a Hentschell interview on 5AA less than 5 days ago

"Hentschel was on 5AA tonight, and is certainly very positive about his injury.

He said that the doctors prognosis was for him to have a full recovery. While he said these doctors aren't normally so optimistic, they had told him that the operation had gone exactly as they would have wanted, as has his progress.

His scheduled return date is January 2008. At the moment he is doing a lot of work both on the bike and particularly with weights to strengthen his body. KG suggested to him that by then he should have developed his body to the point of looking like the Incredible Hulk!!

Rowdy hasn't got the greatest voice for radio, but it was great to hear him so up-beat and optimistic!!. "

I'd better tell him to give up on the recovery effort because Tootsie has ascertained from those that know that that he is buggered.

i think some of you are only disregarding this information (even if it is a fabrication!) because he is a port adelaide supporter.

you're obviously not thinking straight if you take this so seriously as to take swipes at supporters of another football team.
it's all just for entertainment! but i hope he makes a full recovery from an unfortunate incident.

No, we're disregarding this information because it's Toots.
If Macca19 came by and said this attention would be payed.

OK, fair enough, probably haven't been here long enough to figure it out...

for that, punishment = hentschell will come back and in his first game against port adelaide, will kick seven goals on matt thomas.

cough*but we will still win.

Great news Mac. Dr Toots, getting thrown out of the The Royal Adelaide School of Proctology after refusing to wear trousers during patient examinations, doesn't make you an expert on knee injuries.

Seriously though, this news has made my day.
