Folks,
Was interested to know how Trent was going.
Until Hawthorn and the Stubbs family failed to come to an agreement about Trent's drafting, there was a lot of excitement about him on our Boards.
My understanding, which may be wrong, is that we offered him a Rookie spot and his old man felt insulted, thought he warranted a spot on the primary list and so marketed Trent to other clubs to ensure someone would draft him. As I said, this is all second and third hand though, so if wrong, please don't take offence.
Whilst a scholarship player for us a lot of people were impressed with his speed and silky skills ear-marking him for a HFF or wingman role. I know he describes himself as:
"Medium-tall half-forward, high-marking player, good skills on both sides of my body. Endurance athlete, quick."
So anyway, interested to know how he performed this year. From memory he has had some injuries.
That aside, best of luck this weekend. Nice to see Swannie get the Chas he deserved last year.
Cheers,
Collins-Langford-Ayres
