Now that the news is confirmed does anyone else think we should do something? Take some flowers down to the club perhaps? Pretty futile I know but I feel like we should do something.

My MSN is supermercado@hotmail.com if anyone wants to talk about it tonight.

A fine tribute but I'm talking about something immediate.
well i am donating lots of footy cash to the Appeals, but not sure what to do for immediate tributes.

i will feel weird when i turn up to games with the jumper as i also share the red hair.

sorry to hear of the news " although the odds were running out day by day - hour by hour "...and the gut feeling was not looking good at all.
its very sad to hear this happening to anyone, and ,or any of us ...and reality really hits home when its something close to what i relate too...A.F.L.
to me even though i'm a " Pies supporter "...
this really is quite surreal,i can't really believe it !!!!
sympathy to his wife/family/friends ...supporters ...and the club !

Perhaps a patch should be worn on the the jumpers by all melbourne players (even ALL players in the league) I don't know, I'm to upset to think

i would have thought both the club and troy's family would rather people make donations for aid rather than buying flowers etc...

i will be buying the #20 for my jumper... and i'm sure in time the footy club will make arrangments to honour this brave man's memory...

perhaps his number should be put on all the players tops on the front for rd 1 as a sign of respect

Not a bad idea.

They could then auction every jumper from every club and donate it to help those affected by this shocking disaster.

Let me say 1stly I feel like this is not my place to add or suggest anything. So if I upset anyone by posting here please delete my post.

When Darren Millane died in 1991 a group of Collingwood supporters set up an supporters/cotorie group named Club 42. 42 was Darrens number. Club 42 is now one of the most respected groups within CFC circles.

Not a bad idea at all that that.

Would it be better to name the MFC Most Improved award the Broadbridge medal?

people are flabbering about having a single game or a meaningless BOG medal named after him - but i would see it more fitting to have an award which meant something to the club and its players (no disrespecting PA here folks!).

Seeing how broady did win this and i feel he really was that kind of player - hard working and very willing to give to the team.

That is a fabulous idea, in my opinion. Broady deserves on-going recognition...this suggestion seems most befitting.

How about an allstar footy game in the style of the cricket match, to raise funds. I know its preseason, but i'm sure there'd be few players willing to have a game. Not a permanent tribute, i know but it would be a good start.

Firstly condolences to Troys family, friends and everyone involved with the Melbourne FC.
IF a tribute was to be made for the year I would love to see No 20 on the back of all MFC playing jumpers. Similar spot to the Footscray and Brisbane letters as recognition.
