Troy Makepeace??

Excuse me all, I was just reading the Free Agency thread on the main board, and saw several references to Troy Makepeace being hard done by.

I've not heard what happened there, can anyone fill me in pls?

Troy liked to play off his man and JYD wanted him to be more accountable man on man. He got lost by thinking too much in the end. He would have been great this year, especially with the loss of Gibbo. He's was pretty dirty about being dropped, and even dirtier that no one else picked him up. I heard he got together a heap of his memorabilia and sold it.

Good player but like someone else said we had a lot of hbf's coming through and he wasnt the best thing for us. But it is stiff that he didnt get picked up even in the PSD.

Certainly was not debunked. Know the guy who rang him and have asked Troy who confirmed the story. Absolute fact.

Nice bloke and I'm sorry he didn't get picker up but not sorry to see him go. Too loose a defender for mine.
Same person told me that Chocko Williams told Troy he was the best uncontracted player in the draft but was too old (26?) for them to take him.

Loved the Troy running around off a wing.

I think at the time I was adament he should have been retained - in hindsight I don't know. I'll put it this way tho, there's plenty of players who did a shitload less and were retained.

This years' success has sort of eclipsed how filthy I was with the treatment of a few players last year. Makepeace was the main one. Sav was the other.

I remember thinking "Good on you, Sav, go to the NFL and earn more than this whole club combined and shove it up them'.

Ahh...But now we're winning, and JYD is fine, and it's fine that Watt, Brown, Green, Sansbury all get games. 'Cause we're winning.
