The Adelaide Uni Soccer Club is having a fundraiser BBQ this Sunday, and we'd love to have your support... I've attached an e-mail I got about it, I hope is sorta explains it n stuff, if not, umm, just look out for it in the media, n stuff...
I write to seek your support with the upcoming Adelaide University Soccer
>Club's(AUSC) Charity Match/BBQ that is held in aid of the victims of the
>recent Asian Tsunami and Earthquake.
>
>The AUSC is a very multicultural club, which attracts a large number of
>overseas students each year. These players will often be at the club for the
>term of their university studies and as such, will forge strong bonds with
>the city of Adelaide and its people.
>
>Unfortunately, most of these wonderful individuals come from the region
>affected by the recent tragedy that resulted from the Earthquake and Tsunami that has devastated whole communities and killed many of its people.
>
>The players of the AUSC are very concerned about their friends that have
>returned home for the break, and have frantically been trying to contact
>them with little success. We are feeling rather helpless at present, as are
>most of us, but have decided to hold a charity Soccer Match and BBQ as a
>small token of our support for the players, their families, and their
>compatriots.
>
>The players involved in organising the event are volunteering their time
>with all proceeds from the event to go to the victims. We also hope that
>this will entice other sporting bodies to mobilise their members and do what
>they can to contribute to the aid effort.
>
>We have had great support from the Goodwood business community including Bakers Delight, The Goodwood Butcher, and
>others such as the British Hotel, the Goodwood Hotel and Cellars,
>Gourmandiser, Bunnings, Angelakis Brothers, Renniks Hire and many others.
>
>We are also getting solid backing from most Adelaide Radio Stations and News Papers, all of whom have committed to promoting the event over the next few days.
>
>We are also still desperately short of the following:
>1. Soft drinks
>2. Water
>3. Beer
>4. Ice
>5. Meat
>
>We thank you for your consideration of our request for support and hope that
>you will be able to help with this great humanitarian cause.
