... of the Travis variety ... if his VFL form holds up for the remainder of the year AND he remains clean, would really be worth a look IMO. Clearly has talent, and would really give us the type of midfielder we need to finish off our midfield. Basically is the younger, more skilfull version of Shane!

We can use our track record and experience with Ben Cousins and of course the family connection with Shane to get him over to punt road, assuming the forms continues and drug issues stay away

I would be 100% for this, i think he is a real talent and knowing he would come cheap, it would be worth the risk.

The Tuck boys seem to come on a little bit later so i think drafting him at the moment would be perfect timing.

Bring him on!

It's official then. Our club has become a half way house for drug addicts. We should change our name to the salvation army.

He is a very good chance to be picked up if he keeps playing well. All reports say he's turned his attitude right around and is doing everything to get back into AFL as soon as possible. Not sure we're the right fit, especially since it is unlikely Shane will be at Richmond next year...

I think that everyone deserves a second chance. But I think the talent he had was due to the drugs... Is he a clearance machine like Shane?? If he is then in combination with Cotchin we would dominate.
How old is he btw?

He was found with GHB? a party drug. He has NEVER tested positive for performance enhancing drugs...
Seriously makes me cringe when I come on here and read some posts. It takes two minutes to do some research on google before posting on here and making yourself look like a tool.

IIRC Ben Cousins never tested positive for drugs, He just came out and admitted he was, Pretty bad how player's get 3 chances but then if you admit you stuffed up like Ben did you get banned for a year like Travis has. There would have been heaps of players that have tested positive that the media dont no about. I think Travis would be a good pick-up for us if we get him for free. Would add some depth and has shown numerous times that he has potential at AFL leval.

haha! :thumbsu::D

but yeah I don't think we should take a risk on him here to be honest, what would we have to sacrifice?

24 definately isn't too old, but why not save the hassle and get someone more promising (who is far less likely to possibly bring in some extra baggage) and younger?

The media circus that was Cousins contributed to his contract not being renewed.

The club does not need that feeding frenzy again; so we should pass on Travis.

In Tuck out Tuck...has a ring to it..unfortunately for that ring, by the start of the next season there will be 0 Tucks on the list, if we dont give Travis a go. There might be one on the rookie list though. Have a feeling Dimma would have a good handle on what Travis can or cant bring to the table, being at the dawks at the time where Travis was drafted, so if he deems him to be worth the risk then i go with that.

But there are other huge issues that need addressing before we bother about pissing about with who to give a rookie spot to next year...;)
