Your mate was most likely speculating, they will be going through everyone they want to draft and give detailed analysis. They may show a slight bias towards Cotchin or Morton, but I doubt he'll say it. Last year they said they wanting Jack Riewoldt, but don't forget it wasn't a 50/50 decision between him and someone else.
Note that all information on this night is supposed to be kept under the rug until after the draft, so don't expect too many details before the draft.
Next Saturday when GM says "we were expcting pick 18 to go top 10!" and such we will be able to almost confirm it when a lot of the info is put on the net.

Today the media released this insinuating we were after Cotchin...
Highly-rated youngster Cale Morton, touted as West Coast's replacement for Chris Judd at pick three, is likely to slip down to Melbourne at pick four.
The Eagles are believed to have set their sights on East Fremantle midfielder Chris Masten, considered a better stoppage player than outside midfielder Morton, brother of former Eagle and new Tiger Mitch Morton.

I have some relatives who are going and having a meeting with Greg about the draft but i cant say to much.
It would be difficult to announce who they will pick unless Carlton come out today and categorically state who they will pick at 1. It would look pretty silly if they came out and said Cotchin, only to see him going at 1. That is why I don't believe they will announce anything till about 10.03am 24th November and then there will be no doubt!
So it seems.
