TV Reception Question

Require some DIY advice for TV reception issue.

Got a holiday house and has TV reception that worked fine but wanted to put another TV in the main bedroom so I brought a splitter box and split the antenna cable in the roof. However it appears as though the reception has suffered because of this. Do I need to buy a signal booster for each of the tv of do I only buy one and connect it to the cable before the split (this may be tricky as the split is in the roof).

help, or point me to a relevent web-site would be appreciated, as channel ten is near unwatchable and the wife is a mad saints fan.

Masthead amp before the split and make sure the splitter can power pass for the power feed from the TV end. You can put them on the Antenna pole.

However - I find it a little hard to believe that a single split could degrade the picture that much unless it was extremely borderline in the fist place.

channel 10 was pretty dodgy to begin with, thought i would take the risk and buy a $10 split rather than fork out $80 for a split and booster. going to dick smith to see what they have on offer.

An amplifier will never fix a bad picture - it will simply amplify the noise and the picture will remain bad.

The fixes are - Better Antennas, Better cabling or higher elevation.

Yeah, check connections. If you done any yourself make sure there is no short between the outer braded wires and the copper conductor in the middle - this will instantly give a shit reception.
