At the risk of getting shot down for being petty, an ad on TVN last night promoting racing on their station made some elementary spelling mistakes. They promoted Flemington as Flemmington and the Guineas as the Guinneas. Both words were splashed across the screen a few times each. Obviously it doesn't hurt anyone and we know what they mean but if they are promoting themselves as a high quality racing network don't you think they could spell the name of out greatest racecourse and some of the most important races correctly?

All TVN do is show their own ads, flogging off their own programs and tipsters. I'll throw a brick at the TV if I see that Barrier Trials Uncut ad one more time!!

I'm not surprised they made a blue with the spelling, they had an ad in December promoting quality summer racing from Flemington....too bad Flemington is out of action and wasn't going to be used. They re-did the ad and made it Caulfield instead.

Quality topic Starz, kudos.

Keep it up tige. I'd prefer you post stuff like that, accusing me of being another poster than discussing racing. It is plainly obvious that you have very limited racing knowledge and what you do post an opinion it is something you've read or been told and pass it off as your own.

Keep up the good work Starz, so anyway who is going to win the Newmarket? you where leaning towards Gold Edition??

While on TVN I've heard a few things coming out of IT there.

First they are going to Apple second they are looking at having state of the art services, very much like active menu's, race replays when you want them and "pick a track" stuff.

Word is (from a custy yesterday who got 3 17'' macbook pro's from me) is it should be up by the Spring.

Agree that it's annoying and sometimes the station is rather unprofessional. Comparable to Channel 31 perhaps....BUT.

For my $10 a year (or whatever it is now) I think they do a preety decent job!

And the relevance of that to this discussion is? It sounds to me like youre simply trying to big note your sales ability with that totally irrelevant statement.

On the other things you mentioned that sounds very good. Would be great to have those things added to an already good channel.

As long as they fix the picture quality I don't care. I love TVN, think its great don't get me wrong. But it's still miles behind the picture clarity of Sky. Just watching Racing Review now, geez the vision and camerawork from the Melbourne set is horrible.

Just read that TVN will be available free to all Foxtel and Optus pay tv subscribers as of Thursday. Great news, should increase their viewing audience and hopefully get a few sponsors on board which means we'll be subject to less TVN commercials flogging their own shows.
