To those students of the game they would note that TWs style the tiges have adopted, that is a run and carry in case you've forgot:confused:...always struggles against those sides that maintain a man on man very accountable style of play...Crows, swans, collingwood and even the Blues all play same game...TW has no answers to the congestion created that effectively bottlenecks the passages for our runners to run. Converesly we have performed well against the open running sides....I wanna see alot more of TW in the next 12 months before I'm convinced who is the right coach to take us to the promised land....right now we dont seem to have all the answers

He used the excuse of his team "lacking body size"

Terry Wallace you are a joke.

Who's fault is it that we lack wieght? YOU recruited Tambling, Morton and the big one - MCMOHAN.

FFS, Adelaides might have had a few more expirenced players on the field but their youngsters like McKay, Campbell, Moran, Vince, VB, Otten, etc look ALOT bigger then blokes like McGuane, Tambling, Pattison, Morton, Edwards, etc.

Our development is poo

Terry can't even pull the old school 'fire and brimstone' routine out, when all else fails......today they ran out and played the game like it was a Sunday School meeting. Even Spud could get the odd cheating start to a game by telling the players their houses were on fire or some other BS.
(Please note: Spud was also a dud, but had a few sly tricks up his sleeve. TW can't even appeal to the players to lift.....too much Basketball wank theory....not enough footy passion)

I didnt see it but the commentators say he went seriously fire n brimstone at both quarter and half time. Bojangles is right. We have no answer for the bigtime flooding sides and we need to find one before next year.

Couldn't agree more ( although a lot is TWO words not one!!!).

By saying we are not suited to the wet weather, it gives the players an out.
What happens if it is wet this week?

Yesterday was so disapointing for so many reasons. Our season on the line and we hardly gave a yelp. I was disgusted at half time and stopped watching. I think this was the first time this year I was actually appalled and felt the same feelings I felt during Frawleys reign. Utter and total disbelief at how shit we looked.

It was embarrassing and despite life after football last night I was crushed thinking our season is virtually over after a hard fought win against the Lions and some gritty wins this year.

TW... Make the necessary changes this week and don't give anyone a free ride in the yellow and black. There were players wearing that guernsey yesterday that deserve to be dropped. This is AFL FFS. If the team puts in an insipid performance like that changes need to be made. Mix it up a little. I want to see this team have a real dip this week. TW the heat is on you.

i stopped watching half way through the second term. was just to pissed off to watch anymore.

i occassionally turned over from the olympics to check the scores.

after seeing st kildas last few efforts i thought they were the softest, weakest team.

but we are. the yellow and black are the meekest, weakest, peaheart bunch of pissweak **** ive ever seen.

richo like riewoldt tries hard but doesnt get a lot of help.

tuck like hayes is a hardnut surrounded by front running peahearts.

tambling like the clark brothers, waste of a top five pick.

I just hope cotchin and deledio dont turn into a player like dal santo, skill to burn heart the size of a moths left testicle.

the only hope we have of making 8 spot is if st kilda lose every game from now (big chance to do so) and we win at least two more games.

after yesterdays performance we dont deserve to.

better luck next year aye. :(

There isn't much TW can do if the players aren't committed on the field.

He has put together the framework and structure to take the Tigers to the top - if the players aren't heeding the message, then they need to think about what it means to wear the Richmond guernsey

This is the beauty of the current coaching regime at Richmond.
Some core values have now been instilled that have put the club on the right path.

It's now all about accountability, commitment and dedication.
The cornerstones of success

Well done to TW and his team for bringing these principles to the Tigers playing group, giving them the framework to follow that will ensures success :thumbsu:

The players who make up the list are there because TW put together the framework and chose them as the "required" players to execute on his framwork. If the players are not committed on the field, that in fadct means that he has failed in his choices of who can be comitted. This is a damning inditement to the skills that TW professes to have. If the players arent heeding the message, it can be one of only two things. The message is wrong, or the players who are suppose to heed it, are wrong. Either way, the buck stops with TW, he selects the players, he gives the message.
Now **** off. ;)

Peter SasseGum I admire your positive outlook on the situation but if you watched yesterdays game it just highlighted how long we have before we are real final contenders.

Do you think we are a show against the Hawks this weekend? After yesterdays effort I think we may be in for a real struggle. Adelaide have 0 main forwards yet they managed to punish us on the scoreboard. Hawthorn have Roughead and Franklin complemented by Williams. We are truly fcuked if these players get a sniff.

Their midfield is stronger and better skilled then Adelaide's. Mitchill and Hodge will tear us a new one if we let them.

With Riewoldt & Morton in such bad nick at the moment I can't see how we're going to be able to hurt them on the scoreboard either. I'd like to be positive but it's dire for me at the moment. I'm just so gutted.

Go Tigers anyhow! :o

Yes I think the Tigers are a chance this week against Tassie.

Any side can beat another if a few things fall their way.

But let's remember, the Hawks are much further along their developmental phase than the Tigers. They pulled some sneaky trades and got super lucky at the draft table - proof that the gape between the Tigers and the top sides is very small.

We are now focused, and set on our journey towards the top.
Hawks on the other hand will probably have a few years up top, and will most likely under-achieve like St Kilda.

Well done to TW and his team for setting the Tigers up for long term success, which has been built on honesty, integrity and with a focus towards the greater benefit of the Richmond Football Club :thumbsu:

we will play better against the Hawks as they play a more open style of footy and will give us a few more chances than being locked down against the crows

Especially on a dry MCG. Rucks are our biggest worry again. Campbell and Taylor have been playing bloody well lately and if the Hawks get if first it could get ugly.

may have paid to play cartledge or Graham..simmo has proven he needs to be in tip top shape to produce the goods, going into the game with a dodgy knee always spelt a poor game in store for the big fella...if he's still struggling then TW needs to look elsewhere

Terry Wallace is all theory and no passion.

I mean look at Mick Molthouse, there is no way Collingwood should have beaten the Saints on Saturday night but he would have given his team the biggest rev up before the game, whilse Wallace doesn't even show up to half of our training sessions.

Pathetic

We've beaten the Pies and Blues regularly with worse sides than we had this year Bo, while the Crows always seem to play us at home more often than in Melbourne, and the Swans are just way too mature. But don't forget it was purely Wallace's tactics which brought us our only win against the Crows in the last 10-12 meetings (can't be buggered looking up the exact figure).

We had no problem in the areas of contested footy or tackling yesterday (or this season for that matter - it's been an area of rapid improvement), we just moved the ball disgracefully, lost our footing with alarming regularity, and were outsprinted over and over again on the lead in attack.

Most times we've looked poor this year are on wet grounds, and I'm sure this is something we'll keep working on over the pre-season. But I say again, the fact most of our mature bodies are playing hurt and our kids getting tired is further exacerbated by playing on a wet ground.

We'll improve on that, just the same as we've improved our away record, our contested play and our tackling. The whole package is a work in progress, and when you start from such a low base as we did (2004) and are relying so heavily on kids and veterans, there will always be days when we look poor.

I don't think very much of Malthouse's ability as a coach. Yeah, he bars up along with his Pies and thrashes Geelong by 86 points, but then he just comes up with limp-wristed excuses after that. A couple of games after the Geelong game, he bagged the Demons because they had the temerity to play competitively, forcing Collingwood to try and overcome 'blockbuster fatigue' in order to beat the Dees by 25 points or so. He and his Pies lose to Carlton and the Kangaroos twice, and he whinges about 'not having the cattle'. He's coached the side for about 8 years at least, and has barely a 50% win/loss ratio with the Pies, despite two G/F's and a Prelim final finish in his time.

He and the Pies beat St.Kilda, but then again, they are a side that found a way to lose to the then 2-14 Eagles who hadn't come close to anyone in about 8 weeks. Pies are good for the occasional 'back to the wall' sort of one-off effort, but for a consistent, solid side that brings their game face to every week, they are far from it. Malthouse should be criticised a lot more than he is, he's been ordinary in his looking for excuses this season.

I realise that, however we are playing a much truer brand of run and carry football than at any other time during TWs time at Punt rd..it genuinely clashes with a lock down style of football

My thoughts exactly. Many posters forget that we still have a very young and inexperienced group whose bodies havent matured yet, and veterans who have been shouldering the much of the responsibility of the workload all year.

I hope we can get back up and take the game to the Hawkers on Sunday, I'd like to see some tenacity and confidence in our play - and that the Cho and Browny to bring their kicking boots along; our younger players could use a dose of inspiration about now!

Go Tigers
