Two potential draftees training with us - Nick Heyne & Tom Hill

Nick Heyne is a left footed wingman/onballer that played for Gippsland Power and Vic Country (too young for last years draft), has some good runs on the board for a bottom ager....nice mover and nice skills. Not super quick but quick enough. Like all bottom agers it will all depend on how how progresses this year...some kids contiunue to develop and some don't. Not surprised we have shown interest, but I wouldn't think at this stage he would be worth a first round pick next year....maybe second. As I said though, all depends on his development this year.

Tom Hill I don't know.

I like the part where they were asked about Judd and said:

"training begins at 9am, we rocked up at about 7.30am to do some gym work first and suprise suprise Judd was in there, he'd been there since 6.30am"

There's our captain for you.....

If you were an upcoming midfielder draftee wouldn't you give your left nut to be training with Carlton. Judd, Stevens, Murphy and Gibbs... sprinkle in Simpson and Hadley some great people to learn from.

2 AIS scholarship holders get sent to each club every year, just to be given a look at the environment at an AFL club.

They are not selected by the club and players dont choose which club they get to train with.

There is nothing to read into the 2 players that were sent to train with Carlton.

There wasn't anything to read this time last year into Cotchin spending his time at the tigers either!!

Not saying anything will come of it but it gives us first look at these kids, and a chance for them to feel comfy in our environment!

Exactly right. Steven Gaertner and Patrick Veszpremi were the 2 AIS boys that trained with Carlton this time last year. Veszpremi ended up being drafted to Sydney, whilst Gaertner missed out all together.

Would of been nice to see some other crew keeping Judd company eg. Russell, Murphy,Grigg etc.

I was disppointed and felt we gave up too much for Juddy when the deal was finalised. However, the more I hear and see of Juddy, the more I understand that this is exactly what we needed to do. Hopefully now the kids will follow his leadership and the club will be returned to where it belongs.

As you can see Surrey, Judd brings more to the football club than just his on field exploits. His affect on the kids would be imeasurable, not to mention what he would do for guys like Stevens, Fevola and possibly Scotland

And I haven't even started on what he could do off-field for us.
