He has one more year of his contract left at Richmond, but the Herald Sun says that he might hold off and nominate himself in the Pre-Season draft...

Do you think this guy will be good to pick up?

No way, waste of time heard a few things about him, caught up in the wrong crowd and all that stuff and with this years off year dramas with Tarrant, Davidson,Walker and Swan in trouble with the law we don't need another one let him go somewhere else.

I don't think you can nominate for the PSD if you are contracted. The Tigers would have to release him. As for us picking him up I am two minds. He has some real problems but he has a bit of talent and in the back of mind I keep thinking we need a psycho. I am thinking of asking Balmey to talk Robbie Muir out of retirement.

Agree with Mark, maybe worth taking a punt on the nutcase factor. Unfortunately his off-field reputation goes against him.

On balance I'd say no, but I wouldnt complain if we picked him up on a one year contract.

We would be crazy to not give Zantuck a Run, he'd make alot of our 2nd tier defenders and forwards find it hard to get a spot. This is the guy that kicked 4 goals against us and would of been the match winner if not for some brilliance from Kingy and Holland... youguys are crazy.... Get rid of King ans Shacks and don't give zantuck a run? That's what I keep on hearing and it's stupid, look towards the future of the club people, Zantuck has the grunt and spirit not to mention the talent to take his game to a new level if he leaves a pathetic club and gets a new start.

Your a moron, he's played under 10 games, give him a go for heavens sake. King is a forward player who will graduate into the midfield, he has grunt and best of all has no trouble finding the big sticks, 8 goals in 9 games for a player in his debutant season and with limitedtime on the pitch should speak for itself, and anyone saying we should let go of such a talent is kidding themself.

Great if McGrath was there, but unlikely given other Brisbane retirements? As for the argument that we need more bolshie factor via Zantuck.... I don't know the players involved, but it seems we've had a fairly bolshie season with players this year already, apparently with some still to be resolved next week. Perhaps we need more focus before more fury?

I think i want Zantuck at the pies if he is available in the PSD. I dont want him for the so called 'grunt' factor that i dont think he has a great deal of. I remember his footy late in 2002 and remember thinking he would break it apart this year, but Richmond as they are it makes it hard and with some off field incidents that dont help, he let me down. I think he has some real talent but would definatly struggle to make a best 22. I think he ********s on Lokan, Williams, Walker, King and Fanning though. If we needed someone to fill a spot on the list, not bthe field then he is a good pick. Think he would really struggle to get a game in the backline, especially with chad's arrival, but i like him very much as a forward.

I'd faint if we picked him up. Not because i'd be against it, but because it would be bloody awesome. I love the guy, tough, hard and quick. What he did to Shotgun Williams made me laugh for about 5 minutes.

ROLL ON DOWN ZANTUCK :)

Collingwood are in a position to ursup Essendon and negotiate a deal to snap him in the preseason draft. Other then the grunt factor which is invaluable to any side let alone Collingwood, I think we could use him as a foil up forward akin to how we used Molloy. Occasionally he could pinch hit down back.Sheedy recognises the importance of toughness and wanted him in a big way. Along with Solly he would have certainly mongralised their back line a bit which is something we can do now. Even with some risk that goes with it I think Collingwood should make a play for him and put together a deal especially if all we have to give up is a paltry pick 4 in the PSD.

No one at Richmond truly thrived under Frawley's tutulage, Ottens bacame 'tradable' Fiora (ie pick three in the draft) was a basket case in motion, Richardson shoulda kicked his tonne,Gasper became a massive burden and Tivendale was just another left footer. I say a guy like this under a Malty type could thrive with a bit more direction and the right influences around him.

If he cannot fit into the plans of that rabble at Punt Road, then what makes people think he would fit into our plans?

Ash McGrath at 21 with 50 games behind him would be a far better pick up.

I agree McGrath would be a better pick-up, but mark my words, the AFL's three biggest improvers in 2005 will be Brad Ottens, Aaron Fiora and Ty Zantuck. Danny Frawley will be exposed in 2005 as being even more incompetent than any of us ever imagined.

Zantuck will be ok.
