Type in Ringtones

Where do I find some type in ringtones?
I seem to remember someone typing a ring tone into my phone and saving it while back. Are there any websites where you can pirate these?

There was a time (quite some time back in the history of phones) where phones had built in composer software because the range of noises they made was so limited that you really could type in the instructions.

I'm not sure this is either practical or possible these days.

there are quite a few free ringtone sites on the net, best to google it i'd assume, but they are often quite limited to the hits of today and a few token classics.
