Pros. Restricted free agent. With Clark gone and Vardy possibly on the table is there a place for Big Ty? Won't cost a pick, the departure of the former leaves cap space. A good foil for Hawk and cover for Smith/Stanley. Durable. Right age profile. The right age profile. Would annoy the Dawks. Could take his game up a notch and possibly three.

Cons. Allegedly crap. Do we need another TV whipping boy in this forum?

Vickery is underrated by lots of people.

Honestly, I think his ruck work is average but he looks alright down forward. If he has better supply, I'm sure he can increase his output. He averages 1.5 goals a game at the moment but at Geelong that could probably increase to a couple of goals a game with a better midfield and more opportunities. Would we be happy for a 40-50 goals a year forward? Yes, I'd love it. In 2015, he kicked 31 goals from 15 games so that is probably on track if he can string together 20+ games. A big 40-50 goal forward next to Hawkins instead of Kersten who is rumoured to be gone? Yes, please.

He is also the most likely Stanley of any player out there so if Stanley does go, he suits. Yes, he doesn't have Stanley's athleticism. However, his skill set probably compliments Smith best of any one else out there as he is predominately a forward. I don't know how true the article is as I don't see why Adelaide would want him. However, does he compliment Geelong well structurally? Yes if he plays forward and lets Smith ruck most of the time like a Stanley does.

I think the article is probably BS as its probably just his manager trying to get more coin. However, it wouldn't surprise me if Geelong were genuinely interested. The fact we were even mentioned without being dismissed (like Adelaide was) says to me it is far from over if it is real. However, when I hear a player linked to Hawthorn now I just don't believe it. If the deal was real and that great, it would be story like Vickery agrees to deal with Hawks.

I'd take him if we have cap room as I think you can never have too many big forwards and rucks for depth and I think he is underrated. However, I have no idea if it is real or not.

Nope - get me the bucket.

He's gotten the golden ride at Tigers with the family connection I think - and just no.

Cant kick, does not work hard enough and disappears for months at a time.

We have our own incumbent versions...

No thanks.

Am I alone in thinking he's a decent talent?

Whether we need him is another matter...
Can't say I've seen to many tigga's games in their entirety but seems like he could be anything or is absolutely woeful. Take him out of Punt rd and work on his weaker points and he could play a part at the right price.

No. But he suffers from the all too common "little-bit-ruckman-little-bit-key-forward" syndrome. To me at least, he looks the most comfortable playing as a second ruckman. There's no pressure to kick 4 goals a game that way, and he's far from useless around the ground.

But, going by that theory - that he's really a second ruckman - then with Stanley we're unlikely to need him. Could be wrong.

If we got him for free, and Vardy gets out, I'd take it. We have been very lucky this year with having all of Hawk, Stanley and Smith at full fitness all year.

He's one of those taller players whereas at his best, he is very good - but at his derpy worst, he is an embarassment. I'd chalk a lot of that up to playing for Richmond, though. We could get a lot better out of him, particularly with better delivery.
