Just wondering whats the status with him? He was impressive last year and I'm just wondering why he's not playing in our senior side at the moment. Is he injured or just out of form? I'm not sure but I think he is playing at VFL level, I haven't seen too many VFL games to know so does anyone here know?

from memory he has an injury interupted pre season, whether thats the reason i dont know. i dont think he was fully fit going into the earlier rounds , maybe they are just getting some match time into him to get his fitness up.

I'm even further away from the action than you are, but for what its worth, my opinion is that he was unfortunate enough to find himself out of the team at the wrong time. His form was poor early on (when a lot of the backline was struggling, he got dropped and before he made it back, the team (& particularly the backline) had hit good form. Although the form of some other areas of our team may have slipped a little the backline is doing very well. I think he would have had to do something pretty miraculous to get back in. Having said that I have no doubt that he will get back as he has shown himself to be a quality footballer.

Oh ok thanks guys. I hope he gets back to playing senior football soon but its good to see that we have enough depth at the moment to cover him, as he was influential last year.

Had lingering OP in the pre season and thus he was restricted in his ability to get AFL ready , and hasn't been able to get right since.
Didn't play last week in the VFL because he was struggling with a minor leg injury.

considering we have good defenders to cover his absence i cant see why not, especially since they are tagging the ____ out of him on the flank his influence has been reduced!

he was dropped b4 the game against the saints (someone had to be made an example of what would happen if they showed poor form).
now he has to break back into the side got no idea how long that will take (i dont follow the vfl).

while the whole team, especially defence, was down early in the year i still think goldsack was pretty good. such a couragous guy...the game he played against lions where he split his face open...!

was it the essendon game where he went forward and snapped a few goals?

cant wait for him to get back. definately deserves to be ahead of cox

form was down and there is currently no spot for him in defence.

He is realistically only going to play the role of Shaw or Maxwell and despite what some idiots will have you believe, both of them are in good form.

Had a tough preseason and early season with mutliple injuries and finding it hard to push his way back into a backline that is in outstanding form. Will just have to keep plugging away. Hopefully he gets some gametime in the VFL up the ground during the season.

Theres a few in the same boat as Goldsack who are struggling to force their way into the seniors - Iles, Reid, Cook, Cox, Stanley to name a few, and now Wood cant find his way back. They just have to put the pressure on week after week by performing and they will eventually force their way in like Brown Wellingham and more recently, Cox. And Rhyce Shaw who was playing VFL last September.

Nothing to worry about, except he's in my Dreamteam doing bugger all.
