Security update regarding your Ubisoft account

Dear Member,

We recently found that one of our Web sites was exploited to gain unauthorised access to some of our online systems. We instantly took steps to close off this access, investigate the incident and begin restoring the integrity of any compromised systems.

During this process, we learned that data had been illegally accessed from our account database, including user names, email addresses and encrypted passwords. Please note that no personal payment information is stored with Ubisoft, meaning your debit/credit card information was safe from this intrusion.

As a result, we are recommending that you change the password for your account:

Same as the EA one, they will give cross game promotions, or extra weapons in a MP in return for your details to be hacked.

Yeah I learnt this the hard way when Gawker Media (Kotaku, Lifehacker, Gizmodo etc) got hacked, and my user/pass got uploaded to PirateBay (along with 20,000 or so others).

Since then I've used LastPass, which I highly recommend. All my passwords are now unique, usually random character passes, and LastPass auto fills them in for me. For extra security, I also use a YubiKey with it, but you need LastPass Premium for that.

I cant remember what my password was, due for a password change on most of my accounts anyway.
