Looks like Ubisoft is making the open world Star Wars game that has been rumoured for many years. **** you EA. (EA still making SW games)

Original story done by Ubisoft/Massive Entertainment (so may be more like the Division).

Would love an origins story of the Jedi and Sith.

I would like a Sith storyline

fu** being a jedi

Thinking because it's being made on the division engine it'll run more like that, shame would have loved an AC style game. Division more gun weaponry as well, maybe no lightsabers :(

Snowdrop was made for The Division so I wonder if that means it will be more of a cover base shooter.

I'd be all in on a Star Wars/Division type cross over.

However, just because a dev makes a game doesn't mean the next is going to be a clone of said game. Otherwise we'd be looking at Indiana Jones being an FPS...which I somehow doubt?

I assume this is a long way away anyway. But the big thing for me is how you create an interesting open world Star Wars game, the most interesting part, generally about Star Wars is that it has so many unique worlds in it's lore that would be interesting to explore. Something along the lines of a Jedi: Fallen Order but expanded upon would be where I'd like to see it move into.

Of course not. Was just a guess if Snowdrop was fit for purpose (cover based TPS) and they specifically mentioned the engine. Then again Frostbite was built originally for Battlefield and look at how many other games they've squeezed out of that (and the associated dramas). I'm more than sure they're capable of retooling it and updating the pipeline for other style of games.

That aside, whenever I play Division with the boys we always mention how well that particular engine handles things like lighting. It seems like a really pretty engine.

From EA to Ubisoft...Disney sure can pick them.

I'll be so disappointed if this is a Division-like GaaS.

What's wrong with Ubisoft?

What's wrong with Ubisoft?

Well there was a mountain of internal issues around sexual harassment and the like which resulted in a lot of firings of both top line managers and other staff.
But that aside, I personally don't feel Ubisoft makes very inspiring RPGs, they are popular and I appreciate they are generally well received, but they're a bit by-the-numbers, checkbox type games. As wide as the ocean and deep as puddle with generally less-than-stellar writing.

Also I just really dislike GaaS type games and really hope that the studio making this Star Wars games goes down a different route to The Division, which gameplay and lore wise I think it very good, but the systems in place focus heavily on grinding, looting and online play, which I hope isn't the case for SW.

A single-player RPG I think is what a lot of people are crying out for, hopefully the success of Jedi Fallen Order is enough to show what people want.
Anyway, it's about 5 years away so a lot can change and hopefully the game is top quality.
