Guys,

Just how badly did everyone think we got done in by the umpires?

when the game becomes available online, i'm going to go through and document every free kick, get an idea around how many were legit, how many were 50/50 and how many were the standard WCE advantage.

the free kick count was 7-20 at half time. The umps came up in the 3rd quarter and made sure they begun to even it up a bit. But the damage was really done.

I think Ross said it well, you let the opposition get 1st position, don't tackle well you will give away a lot of frees.
 
Can't blame the umps.

If after all these years the Freo players are too oblivious to the cheap tactics WC players use to gain kicks then its their own fault. There were some very stupid blatant free kicks given away by our players.

Yes there were but the stupid free kicks were not paid to us, you can't blame umps but they were a f..king disgrace. It set the game up for the scum early. It was BS.

Helped with the momentum that we got the short straw, at the beginning helping them break away and later in the game stifled a few comebacks but definitely not the sole reason for yesterday

Very true and I abused the hell out of them in the comfort of my own home but we've had plenty of games where they've been on our side. I just think the bigger concern is that WC out played us, in particular their midfield. Priddis read the ball off Sandilands better than I have ever seen our own players.
 
No, No, No, No, No..............NO!

Were the umpires terrible? Yes! Did that affect the outcome? NO! It was our inability to convert in front of goal that killed us.

Our number 1 player offloaded twice when he should have gone back and converted.

Our best small forward wasted a couple of opportunities.

Our defenders were giving away free's because they were giving away front position and being led to the ball.

There was so many other things that affected the outcome, let's not be one of "those" supporter groups.

No doubt they were a better side over the whole game but if we had been given the unfair advantage they got at the start that might not have been the case.
We are to predictable off Sandi taps yes but the free that they got off the centre bounce by jumping into Sandi was also bull shit, think they scored of it.

alot of their frees were in marking contests.

WCE also seems to be able to run off their line with impunity all game. They'd get the free kick and then run 10m right before they were even called played on.
 
One thing that got me, was at some points the umpires were guessing. They had no vision (i was sitting right behind one of the decisions). He guessed that a tackle was in the back. He didn't see.

We were outplayed and deserved to lose.

That said, the umpires were appalling, but I expect that in our games, and more so when we play West Coast.

It's not just the ones they paid to them, it's also the ones they don't pay to us.
 
Take out all of Silvagni's, which were certainly there, and it's not that big a deal.

There should certainly be questions asked about the ruck infringements Sandilands is having paid against him. It's as if he's being penalised for being too tall.
 
When you go harder to the ball, you will almost always get more of the calls. Besides from the Sandi decisions, I wouldn't fault the umps for our lost.

Yes they were, but convenient of you to ignore the fact they assisted Fremantle the entire second half.

So the 6 goal load was all umpires was it? Fremantle got decisions their way in 3rd qtr yet still couldn't close the lead

Eagles key forwards (Kennedy, Darling, Sinclair) alone got 10 free kicks. Why? Because Silvagni is useless, Johnson not far behind after his time off
