Umpiring - woeful

When can we get a honest go from the umpires, dont hope for it to come vs essendon with herds influence.

Absolutely pittiful impiring, nothing more I can say.

im a melbourne supporter and i thought the umpiring was alrite

im yet to see wat happened with Kingsley (it was him wasnt it) and the reversed free kick to carroll + 50 metres coz i was at the exact opposite of the ground

i went to the saints vs collingwood game and now that was shocking umpiring....it cost collingwood any sorta chance

anyway a good game guys i think Geelong is prooving to be almost as hard as a trip interstate

You would though mate. Your team was second to the ball all day, yet got almost double the free kicks.

Personally i couldn't care less about the umpires, but we did get reamed at times.

when the free kicks are 13 to 20 in melbourne's favour you know that it wasn't like that from a neutral point of view. We got crucified against richmond from memory it was 14 to 28 which is terrible. But to Geelong's credit it hasn't hurt us enough to loose us a game yet but who know's we will probably be shafted next week by the umpires best mates the dons. Should be interesting. I know I'll be there to give it to the umps if it does influence the score dramatically

I know, but getting upset about that is like resenting the sun for rising in the east.

Melbournemartin- the Kingsley incident was a shocker. Kingsley took it on his chest, but the ump gave the free to Caroll for holding. Kent turned around to see what the umpire had called, but the ump didn't give a signal at all. Kent assumed he'd been paid the mark, lined up to kick for goal and conceded a 50m penalty.

Shouldn't have been 50 against Kingsley. He didn't know the kick had gone against him. It should only be 50 if the player hears the whistle/call and still goes on with what ever they're doing.

Plenty of times players aren't given 50 after kicking the ball because the umpire says the player didn't hear the whistle.

Acctually Kingsley did see the umpires decision, as he confessed on an interveiw on mmm, and thought if he pretended not to see the decision maybe they would overturn, he also addmitted tryin this a couple weeks ago aswell.

Kingsley would have heard the whistle all right, but would have assumed it was for his mark. The Hickey Stand was generating a fair amount of noise at the time, so it could have been forgiven to think the mark had been payed. Nevertheless, due to the noise, it would be almost impossible to hear the umpire yelling out that a free kick had been payed.

Fifty shouldn't have been payed. The ball was returned promptly when Kingsley realised the free had been payed.

Nothing in it.

Usually I accept when a free kick is and should be awarded against us, this one left me bewildered and bemused. It was a classic duel between the players, the umpire decided to make a hero of himself and pay a free kick.

The umpiring was deplorable. Vozzo is pathetic. His integrity needs to be questioned when he failed to overrule a blatant missed free kick when he had a clear view of the play as the non controlling officiator, then overruled a less than controversial decision towards Melbourne some minutes later. The bloke's a complete, incapable idiot. At least he's consistent... consistently inconsistent!

Umpires. The game probably destroyed them when they woke to the realisation they couldn’t play it, now it’s pay back and they’re destroying it.

The Kingsley free against was very doubtfull as that type of situation would have happened several times on the weekend without the same call.However , can we honestly say that we(Geelong) dont contribute to the free's payed against us. Most are there and we need to work on that side of our game.
