I thought they were a bit easy with the whistle when Ablett or Bartel had it, and otherwise very inconsistent, but we were getting beaten regardless.

As others have pointed out, it had no bearing on the overall score (Geelong were just too darn good) but my God, the umpires were yet again pathetic Something seriously needs to be done about standards. It's ridiculous how players and coaches can be hung out to dry in the media yet umpires are protected.

I thought the umpires were pretty consistent today probably best for the season, put the whistle away more times than not. A few terrible decisions mostly in the second half. I guess its a bit of damned if you do, damned if you dont

The fact Chamberlain can't bounce the ball straight or over his head is a concerning factor.

Different set of rules for the Geelong midfielders than there were to ours...

It's frustrating to watch a great chasing/tackling team like ours not rewarded with holding-the-ball decisions, and then the resulting play is an opposition goal. Happened a couple of times today.

Umps crucified us, clearly swung the match. If they were on the ball it would have only been about an 85 point loss
I thought we applied a lot of good tacklse & got little reward for them
That said, I'd rather get the shocking decisions when the game's not in the balance

Few dodgy ones went against Essendon today definitely. But quite a few were correct, too

I wish we could go back to 2004 rules if you ask me. It's too soft!

We need to bring Goldmember out of retirement, he would of gotten us over the line today. I remember with great amusement his outburst against Geelong where Ablett and Chappy were both sledged by the great white hope.

It didn't change the fact that we were gonna loose but it was terrible and it just got to the point where it was annoying. Like rubbing salt into the wounds.
