This is the only one that concerns me a little.

Should we be worried? Does he want to leave?

Could we get a top 10 draft pick in return?

NEED
A dominant 192cm defender.

I agree with that!

Whether it's through the draft, with a trade or improvement from within, we need another tallish defender capable of holding down a regular spot.

The rumour comes back every once in a while that he is homesick etc etc. Hard to say.

I doubt we would get a top 10 draft pick for him yet. Almost certainly would in a year or two but in the eyes of the football world he is still largely unproven.

Perrie worries me a little also. Can't see the West Aussie teams requiring his services though really.

I am really worried about Reilly's commitment to the club.

I think we could get a top 10 pick for him as he was highly rated youngster in his junior years and I know for certain, Kangaroos, Essendon and Hawthorn have approched Adelaide last year for a trade involving Reilly. Rightly Adelaide rejected all offers. He was drafted at number 12 in the strongest draft in the history of AFL. I think top 10 pick is gettable but I would hold onto him for at least another 2-3 years.

Perrie doesn't worry me one bit. He strikes me as a loyal sort of bloke and I really cannot see him leaving. He will stay to repay the faith that Ayersy and Co. have shown in him. I reckon Biglands will have clubs knocking on his door already but he will stay.

From ther clubs' uncontracted players only Mal Michael, Dean Cox and Dean Brogan are the one I would target but I don't think we will have any luck with either of them.:(

Fair enough on Perrie stiffy, I guess you just get a bit of the yips these days when blokes are from elsewhere.

He has been with the club for 5-6 years and never once did he come across as homesick. Sarge seems to be a mature young man who doesn't need mummy by his side to suceed in life. As I said from all the "free agents" listed Reilly gives me most grief. Then again he might be our ticket to an early draft pick that could land us a pack crashing, strong marking, goal kicking CHF in Fergus Watts or a young developing ruckman in Kepler Bradley. All is not lost.

If we are smart either way we should get the goods.;)

From that list only these are worth the consideration

Mal Michael - one of the best if not THE best FB in the comp. Highly unlikely
Jade Rawlings - Nice tall player. Highly unlikely
Dean Brogan - The best of the available ruckman. Highly unlikely
Matt Maguire - impressive KPP, saints will want to keep him. Highly unlikely
Dean Cox - A Very good ruckman. I don;t think WC will let him go. Highly unlikely

You forgot Wellman Stiffy.
Id take him back:eek:
As good a player as he is we need a younger KPP. Wellman is 30 so I wouldn't really put him on a list of priorities ATM.

I would much rather trade up in the draft to get Fergus Watts (a CHF that plays "Jonathan Brown Style"). I think backline is not major concern of the future. We have McGregor (22), Bassett (26), Parker (20) and Rutten (20) to play in defence but apart from Hentschel and maybe Rutten, there is no REAL key forward on our list. Watts should be a priority. This kid is a gun.;)

I'll second that motion Stiffy, having seen him play in the U/18 championships.

Fergus Watts is a young CHF who looks just what the doctor ordered for the Crows!! Stiffy has described him well and he takes contested pack marks on top of that.

Trading up in the draft looks the way to go to me - I'd love to get him. On his championship he'll go in the top 10 and maybe lower, ie top 5.

Does anyone know the full list of players comming out of their contracts at the end of the year?

Again you have no evidence other than he is a Victorian and was disapointed on draft day (happens to many)

I think we should leave the kid alone until we have some solid evidence of his intentions.

This is where the press should be seeking him out and asking him the hard questions, rather than just focus on the obvious Wayne Carey ouch my knee hurts stories.

Reilly to the roos....for PORTER and pick 25-30???? or Porter...and Motlop

That's the same as offering pick 25-30 and nothing else, because that's the value Porter would be to the Crows - nothing!!

Same comment for the Motlop Porter offer!!

Two lead balloons. They won't fly!!

Ok then you can go with out a ruckman...have Marsh(mellow) as your backup ruckman when clarke or biglands is injured.... who would you want for reilly?

Get us a top 5 pick and we'll talk!!!!!!:)

Bah, you would just swap it for Dermie or Royce Hart ;) .

I have never seen Reilly play football, but he did barrack for North I believe, and I think we are compelled to take a good player off your hands.

As Gonzo said on the North board, we have supplied you with a bloody forward line, and it is payback time!!!!

What can we offer Carlton for their priority picks??? They need some young midfielders with a bit of pace. Would they bite for Gallagher / Doughty and our 1st round pick for their priority pick??????

Nah we would use it to draft a quality kid.;)

So if he barracked for you that means you will get him?????? Reilly is a required player and IF he decides to go back home and you want him then you would have to compensate us fairly

Yes a lot of our forward line players are from the Kangaroos but what you conviniently left out is that you were fairly compensated for all those players;)

Doughty and our 1st round pick for a top 5 pick is a fair trade IMO

Gallagher and our 1st round pick for a top 5 pick - we'd win on that one.

I think you guys overate Reilly's trade value at this stage of his career, sure he was a relatively high pick (12?) but he has really only played one good game in the Wizard Cup final but hasn't done much in his premiership games due to injuries and lack of ground time.
I think top 10 pick mentioned earlier is really pushing it, when you consider a proven player and Brownlow Medalist was swapped for pick (16?).

Remember Barry Brooks was swapped for a number 8 pick (which subsequently became number 6), when all he'd done was get picked at 10 (maybe later?) and sat on Port's list for a year.

If Adelaide got anything less than a top 10 pick for Reilly after spending pick 12 and two years of development on him it would be an absolute rip off.

Melbourne got dudded. Pure and simple.
