eh maybe.
i've always found getting my cover sheet date stamped 'on time' and handing in the essay when it is convenient for me, a good idea. ;)

Damn, wish my uni had the same system as yours!

I have had three 3,000 word assignments due in the last two days and last Friday hadn't started any of them. I just submitted the last one. I've forgotten what sleep is but. :(

Subject is mass media. Some bullsh*t essay where you have to do a texual analsyis of a mass media product or genre.
Wanna write this garbage up for me?

Bah. Don't wanna do this now. Maybe I should sleep on it. ;) Or better still go to the pub.

don't most unis have a system whereby you get your essay date-stamped before handing it in?
the two unis i've been to did.

Just about finished a 5000 worder- due in on Monday. Onlly really started writing it Monday before last. Hard slog, that's for sure!

We just have an assignment box and you drop it in it before the specific time that it is due and after that due date time has passed, the box magically vanishes and if you haven't handed it in you are stuffed.

Disgraceful. You still had 3 days to do it!
Now you see why I am in this ditch!

Will finish tomorrow, weekends don't count- I have never done school work on a weekend.

I used to have a site where it automatically generated essays on postmodernism, popular culture, mass media, etc.

Can't remember it though!

:D

Cultural studies isn't really my thing though. :o

Wow. That's the only time I usually did school work. Actually, late on Sunday nite to be precise.

I guess I should count myself lucky... I've only got two things left to hand in, and both are just chemistry lab reports.

"Mine! Mine! Mine!"

Please exclude if you haven't seen 'Finding Nemo.'
Don't ask.

You could do what my brothers mate did, not hand it in and give the lecturer a phonecall a couple days later asking if he got the essay. Apparently the lecturer said he did, and the guy passed :D

We've been doing the same thing to our Biochemistry lecturer for the whole semester. Hopefully it works for me because I have five lab reports due tomorrow. I may start tonight ... I may not.

That uni '2% deduction for every working day late' policy has really stuffed me.

"Hmmm....it's only 2% dammit....or 4....or 6......what's one week, 10%?" And it keeps spiralling downwards......

I have Sport psychology report due monday, but the lecturer has given no information about the assignment, including the info we have to write about, and when asked when the notes will be available, she says "oh you have to be pretty relaxed to do this class - i'll get to it sometime next week" wtf?!

Oh man, that's the story of my life. (The last two essays I've submitted have been started and finished on the 20% day, you know, when if you hand it in any later, they don't even accept it.)

Except I never learn for it.

I had a 3000 worder due yesterday. This system of losing marks would normally work, except it was an essay in the replacement of an exam, which means it can't be accepted late. You either do it on time or fail. Which I thought "Yeah I'll get that done on Sunday, maybe polish it up on Wednesday..." which would have been fine, I had full confidence in myself to do it on Sunday, except I woke up on Sunday morning and found that my eyes were stuffed. I was quite photophobic. Couldn't look at the computer longer that about 15 minutes, with the brightness turned right to the lowest setting (Although, I must admit, I spent all of those 15 minutes procrastinating, checking email, bigfooty, etc.) I have no idea what caused it, but I was still wearing sunglasses all day monday and tuesday. Only yesterday were my eyes feeling any better, and so I did the essay between 6am and 4pm... except I didn't. I only got 2000 words and they're about the crappest 2000 words I've ever written. And so the one time I could really use those few days grace for completely honest reasons is the one time that I can't have them. And I had an A before that essay too, dammit.

I think it means you all get out of doing the report!!

Yeah its funny isn't it?
2% deduction for a day late. At high school you lost a whole bloody grade for every day it was late. Uni late deductions are a chartiy compared to what high school was.

Funny you would think it would be the other way round.
