Firstly it isnt a great horse, a $100,000 open handicap win doesnt warrant this sort of accolade.

Secondly, I'm guessing you a very new at the whole bookies thing, first rule never bet outside of the 10 minutes prior to the race, Bookies always start horses shorter than they will be, especially on the track.

And Thirdly, whenever you are backing a horse over double E-W odds never go to the bookies, or if you do go Best TOTE if possible, instead use the TOTE to optimise the odds. Bookies payed out at 41-1 while best tote payed 53 for Utility.

Oh and its odds were so high because 10 days ago it was beaten by 8 lengths and weakened over the 2000m trip.

Also Three starts back it was beaten by a provincial hack in Austpak by 6 lengths.

only reason why i backed it at such low odds, was just out luck randomly picked the horses didnt realise the tab was paying out so highly

Interestingly it is racing today at Cranbourne, and no doubt after me having a go at it, it will win.

Austpak never used to go 6 lengths in front and try to pinch the race like he does now, he used to go 2 lengths clear and try and roll along like Desert War did last week. Very annoying to be on him and see him trying to do an Ashkabar.
