So I don't have the whole story but basicly it has to do with Tapatalk and requests to fix issues falling on deaf ears so it was pulled in response.

At the very least we won't have anymore issues with the random glyphs on certain users posts anymore.

This weekend I’ve seen a kid with a magazine get vilified out of proportion

And I saw a huge bloke who coward punched a guy from behind and then attacked him while on the ground get treated like Nelson Mandela by a significant number of Australians (Richmond are a big club).

What happened to this country

Yeah you can't be throwing shit, magazine or not, at players. That was ridiculous, should be banned from the stadium.

Kids throw shit. They always have. Ban from the stadium should be for weeks at most the rest of the season. 2 years is way overs

This is just my opinion but a bloke pleads GUILTY to a vicious attack.......sentencing doesn't even come into it , whether he gets a slap on the wrist or time.....he pleaded GUILTY......he shouldn't have been allowed on the field......

A 16yo kid throws a cardboard clapper towards a player and gets banned from attending AFL for 2 yrs........

WTF!

The membership survey sent out by the club today doesn’t fill me with hope…

Looks like we are in for a significant price hike, paying for grand final access separately and worse seating options. Even the lowest car park pass option was $80 more than the current price.

Prices for everything just keep going higher......same over here but I should be OK, my Age Pension just went up last month by $1.65 per week....;)

I didn't get a survey. Was it meant for all members?

Not sure, it seemed like it was for all members though. I got a generic email a couple of days before saying to expect it.

It has you go through 10 sets of different membership options and select which you would prefer.

Nearly all of them had you paying an extra $300 just for access to GF tickets on top of the membership fees, which are also more expensive than the current prices on their own. And even then some of the gold memberships only had priority 2 access for that price.

Asked how happy I would be to park annually at the blue carpark for $280 haha

I can see already next years memberships will be a sh*t show

Don’t spend it all at once mate 😀

I’ve just renovated 5 bathrooms, it cost more than my first house 😫

I received a text asking me to fill out the survey, haven’t checked my emails yet but if they get greedy I’ll trade in my gold memberships for a few 3 game and just go to the ones I really want to see

There’s 1 year left of the current 3 year deal
I’m curious about what the club’s forward plan is with the Darwin games.

I’ve been the last 2 years and will most likely go again next year but all 4 games have felt like away games

I know it’s extra money for the club and it’s a feel good story for the families of the indigenous players and locals but this team is the Gold Coast suns and that’s where we should be concentrating on.

With our home game crowds rising this year at PFS correlating with onfield performance
Imo it should be the end of the partnership

There’s 10 teams in Victoria that hardly have to travel it’s about time they started having home games there.

Thursday night the NRLW state of origin even rated higher in tv ratings which is concerning when the AFL game was a top 4 clash.

Am I wrong for having the thoughts like this? I’d be interested in other people’s thoughts

Maybe we as members should start letting the club know our thoughts on scrapping the Darwin home games before next year when they start to renegotiate a new contract

I’ve never been because the cost to get there along with accommodation etc. is more than the entire cost of my family membership.

1 game feels right. Little bit of coin for the club and I’d be happy to play another club there in an away game if another club isn’t scared.

Hawk or north will be looking for somewhere else to sell a game soon.

What is the status for Darwin players for our academy?

Surely that will inform our obligations to some degree.
We took Johnston several years back, and I think Brock. Can’t recall us taking another player with our NT access (do we even still have it?) since then, probably because the GC academy is producing so much.

So we got Jeffrey, Rosas, Johnston on to our list, and selected then delisted Brock a few years later.

The only other positive is 8 wins and some money to the club, which is significant I guess. But doesn’t seem like we’re getting a lot of player value in the last few years…

We no longer have Darwin as an academy zone. It was all the players you previously mentioned that came from the NT academy

We got Mally Rosas in 2019, Joel Jeffrey in 2020, Sandy Brock in 2021, Lloyd Johnston in 2022 and Will Rowlands in 2023. Last year, the AFL took away our 3 developmental rookie spots which were given to us to nurture Academy talent, so the club delisted Brock and Rowlands then did not select an NT kid. I don't think it means

Perhaps another thing to consider about the Darwin connection is that it helped attracted Ben Long and Daniel Rioli to the club, so we have 5 of the 15 active AFL players from the NT. Imagine if Zac Bailey or Kiddie Coleman decided to come to the Suns so they could play in Darwin?

There's a kid in the AFL Academy named Taj Murray (not to be confused with Suns Academy 16yo same name) who is 199cm and plays ruck, but could develop as a KPP. Kicked 6.10 for North Adelaide Colts and will move up to senior footy after Nationals. The rest of the AFL would totally shit if we got Academy access to him. We deserve it, but watch the slimy campaigner Dillon continue to f*ck is like he hates us and expecting us to thank him for it.

Yeah, I thought we didn’t have rights anymore.

Gives a pretty clear breakdown of the zones. We aren’t there anymore from what I could tell. Hawks and Geelong are in the NT (explains why they have played there in recent years I guess). So are Collingwood though… Essendon and Demons (used to play games up there, maybe even ant Alice Springs from memory?) also have some links there.

But not us—not the team that plays there twice a year… 😉

owner how much investment at the coal face/local communities these clubs commit.
not just bringing a young kid down to boarding school

We lost it when they unwind the 2019 assistance package
So, no verification? I mean, that isn't surprising because the club has never considered actually being informative to fans. But given the 8 games the club has played in Darwin it seems pretty rough that they would take away the incentive just because our Academy is going well. Also, the AFLW program drafted an NT girl Annabel Kievit last year because they have a commitment to having at least one NT player on their list, but the recent draft was all QLD girls.
